I'll stick my neck out and say this lad has got 'it'. Whatever the **** 'it' is as a striker, he has got it. In a good team he is good for about 15 goals in the Prem imo. Always seems to be in the right place. Reminds me of Andy Cole
maybe this will stop our academy changing its policy on being a seller club, although now under new management i hope we invest in the younger players
I sat near his family at an away game that season he was banging them in League 1 for us. They seemed to be loving it and were happily chatting with the fans sitting round them. That suggests to me that he was happy at Sunderland, otherwise they wouldn't have been as happy as they seemed. Despite whether he was happy with us or not, anyone would want to grasp an opportunity like Bordeaux. Can't see how you can knock him for that.
I hope we invest as well. I don't mind selling the odd one or two for decent money to reinvest in the academy but when we lose talent through not offering them contracts in proper time, we deserve all we get.
Young talented footballers move on because they see the money side of it also this day and age. And I suppose it's like any job if you get an offer to quadruple your wages for the same job you wouldn't think twice. All this loyalty crap is bullshit it all comes down to money
I can't really recall what I thought at the time he left, I think I said it'd be a bad move for his development because he was coming on so well under Ross. I'm certainly pleased for him now and I hope he bangs them in for fun. Always rated him, he's got instincts you can't teach and finds the corner every time.
It is mate indeed! Hopefully we can keep some of the young talented kids for the future of safc. Will be great to see them in the first team!
Should be a few teams looking over their shoulders after Fulhams win at Everton. A couple more wins in their next two matches possible, opening up a trap door..... Might watch MOTD2 see what Maja looks like.
