I don't think we ask for much as Sunderland fans. Win some games and see players putting in the effort. Get us out of this league and back to the PL and the place could be absolutely bouncing. I really hope we can be back in large numbers next season to show him what a full SOL is like on matchday
Imagine how good it would feel to soak in that atmosphere as owner and know it was thanks to you. Especially taking over when the club was at rock bottom.
I love how the crowd roars ( or did roar ) at a good hard tackle Gavin McCann against Chelsea one of the best
A team that plays well and competes. The last few years in the Premier league we rolled over for the majority of the league. If we had a team like the Reid era, could give anyone a hiding in their day never gave any team too much respect and pushing for the top 6, we would be happy. Eventually you cement yourself there and start to want more, it's natural but we would be happy for a good few years with that.
The Council's plans for the redevelopment of the area are awesome and address part of the problem of pedestrian access and use of the land around the Sheepfolds and the Riverside. I would hope that the club do liaise with them on issues such as the Metro. Firstly, on what they can do to improve St Peter's and how it can link in with the plans already announced. I'm not a Civil Engineer, so I don't have a clue about what can and can't be done. The other issue would be to extend the Metro to other parts of Wearside. There's been lots of talk about the extension linking South Hylton to Pelaw via Penshaw and Washington, but that's all it's been - talk. Metro links to Sunderland Centre are still piss poor in comparison with the centre of Newcastle and Gateshead, and the fact that something the size of Washington does not having a single station is criminal. The use of the old Leamside Line to provide links to Barnes, Doxford Park, Houghton and Durham would be particularly useful for reducing match traffic and for bringing shoppers to the City Centre.
Doesn't one of the recent appointments work in this field? Or a company that does? Maybe he was appointed with this in mind.
Got an idea for KLD. If he wants a new pitch, enrole us fans to do all the labour and lay the turf? We could be rewarded for our 4 hour shift with a 3 quid pint?
