I've had a bit running about to do tonight, so just cracked open my second can of Carling Premier....the first one went down a bit quick.
Just how I remembered it....lovely and smooth, and less gassy than normal lager.
    Bloody lovely stuff.

I trust the taste of the good lads and lasses on here so I've bought 8 cans. From the Premier shop in Redhouse if anyone is near there and wanting a source!

Tastes like lager, but feels something like John Smiths extra smooth.
    Way too easy to drink.

Yeah, far too easy... it is unique, there is nothing else like it. It’s quite strong as well for a lager @ 4.7%.

I used to sell it as a barman back in 90’s, in a local social club, and it was the first drink that hit £2 a pint, but it was a revelation. I’m sure it used to be over 5%.

I haven't drank Carling Premier for years, I always remember it to be a really smooth drink.

Becks for me tonight which isn't a bad tipple. Fizz and malt at the ready for the announcement.

First time I tried it would have been early 90's I guess. Was out in a group and had been on lager all night, one of the lads came back from the bar with a round of these, and tbh, i thought there was something wrong with it. Couple of rounds later, I wouldnt drink anything else.
I was over the moon to get some of these tonight....
What i would give for a pint of draught Mcewan's best scotch, newcastle exhibition or a bottle of proper double maxim.

Yeah. It’s different but tastes like lager so you’d think there was something up. It’s very drinkable tho. I never had Scotch but Exhibition was a good pint. Never tried Double Maxim either. I’m trying to think when we first started selling it in the club, I would like to say 96-97, but could have been out well before that. Hard to believe it disappeared like it did tho.

Ditto mate. I have an unopened Aberlour 12 and also an unopened Cardhu Reserve that I've never tried before. I'm drinking an Auchentoshan at the minute which is canny, plenty of options lol.

reet, hoping the players are told and have been properly introduced after seeing the lad at the game on tuesday...also hoping this gives the team a boost as it shows all is settled now to move forward...the 'public' announcement can come anytime but obviously be nice to get it fully confirmed 'from the horses gob'.

nee mad celebrations here but will welcome the new regime with open arms and a strong hope/belief that this lad (and his team) are really going to get it right, already seen plenty of shrewd additions to the backroom staff and reports he is going all out to get the pitch in top condition is another step in the right direction, lots of little snippets that are good to see.

I used to hate Carling but loved Carling Premier. Also big vote goes to Lambtons as well - used to have some sessions on that before and after the match!

I opened a macallan 18 yr @ new year, got about half left, and I’ve got a 21 unopened I’m saving it for my retirement and free prescription date, love a nice scotch, helps through lockdown, and when she’s gotta have dancing on ice or that ****ing masked singer on.

If it is just the club deciding when to announce I hope they do it soon, I think between this and FPP they've kept us waiting long enough. Not like there's a bad time to announce it!

Either way it's going to be an exciting time. Its really important that this goes well, and not just for the club. Through work I've been looking at some of the stuff that's going on down Farringdon Row (we're looking at the multi storey car park but obviously there's lots of other stuff, and I like what they've done at Keel Square and hope there's more to come around there).

The city has needed a boost for years and we all know the close link that exists between the club doing well and the city thriving. Hopefully pubs will be open soon, and they'll be desperate for increased trade. Again, the club doing well and people having optimism leads to them being fuller for longer.

I know for a fact that KLD is keen to learn as much as he can about the place. For me, he's already shown a great commitment to doing more than simply owning the club. Talk of moving to the area is highly unexpected but very welcomed. I think everyone works that bit harder when they know the boss might pop his head in from time to time. We're not going to be spending **** loads on players at this level, but we shouldn't need to. He's going to completely transform the club from the ground up though and that should see us back to being a serious outfit before long. Naturally anything could go wrong, but that's no reason for any fan not to be incredibly optimistic. Just can't wait for the announcement, the pubs to be open and the ground to be open. KLD knows the reputation of the fans but I can't wait for him to see how good it can be here, if he gets the bug there's no limit to how far we can potentially go.
