I appreciate all the kind words guys. I have told Ell that next time he wants a break from doing them he only has to ask, no need to book himself into hospital for a couple of weeks.

TBH I can't believe we are even talking about selling a player that the ink has barely dried on his contract. <ok>

I wonder if Raphina could take over Pablo's job?

Thought I'd add in some unkind words to balance the kind words, but even cynical old me realises how inappropriate that would be! Good work, matey - and good work too from Ell who's been doing it since 1827. :D

Incorrigible. I bet Wiggy hadn't even arrived as an illegal on a boat when you were collecting them.

I can't believe how low the valuations seem to be on Raphina, we don't need to sell so why would we at 25-30 million. Every player has a price but that's not even close.

the more stand out performances produced like that against Crystal Palace the more teams at the top will look to cherry pick, however with the work ethic and team spirit in the side the worst scenario would be if Bielsa decided to go. on the bright side you can see he loves it at Leeds, and as long as the management back him all the way I envisage a trip to Europe could well be on the cards

    Evening all.
Thanks for keeping us debating Hemase.

I don't think Bielsa will just walk away. I think all concerned will have a plan in place before he leaves. He is too proud and considerate a man to build a dynasty then just walk away from it to see it crumble. I hope we get a system like Liverpool had when Paisley took over. That doesn't seem to happen any more because it's all about the players you sign.
It's not like that with Bielsa so much. He wants players to fit into his system, then he develops them.
Remember that we blitzed Leicester with pretty much a team of Championship no hopers and cast offs. I don't think Bielsa would want to go to Spurs. I think he'd prefer Sunderland, for example, so he could do what he did with us.
The next manager is crucial. I don't think Radz will look for a Mourinho, thank God. We aren't going to find another Bielsa so I hope we're growing one. Maybe Pablo.

I think Bielsa will stay with us until either we win a championship / trophy, or he feels he can do no more with us.

If Salah leaves Liverpool for somewhere like Real Madrid, PSG or Barcelona, for a mega money transfer, and we then get hit with a bid of £75-80 million from Liverpool, could we really hang on to Raphinha ?
If players want to leave, you may as well let them go - we learned that with Rio. Liverpool learned that with Suarez and Coutinho.

(also if one of those mega rich clubs went for Raphinha directly, I don't think we would be able to hang on to him).

But money is in short supply right now in football, so I don't think we'll get any big money offers for him. Next year, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup might be different though if he keeps on improving and gets picked for Brazil.
Rio Ferdinand had a great World Cup in 2002 and we know what happened next.

As for Bielsa, if Spurs could sack Mourinho and replace him with Bielsa, it's probably the dream outcome for them. But Bielsa won't leave us for another English team. He is a man of honour.
However if say Real Madrid, Barcelona or even PSG came in for him, I could see him leaving for them and Tbh, I can't say I'd begrudge him for that.

If they came in with that kind of bid and the player said he wants to leave I agree, we wouldn't be able to stop him and Bielsa would be the first to tell him to leave, he wouldn't want anyone who isn't 100% comitted

If Bielsa goes to PSG, at least Poch will have been freed up to sign up for us! Every cloud .....

Not that he will go, of course.

    From BBC gossip...

Leeds United, Southampton and West Ham could rival Tottenham for the signature of Sampdoria's Denmark midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard, 20.
    (Star)

West Ham and Leeds target Matthew Bondswell, the 18-year-old English left-back, is in talks to join a Premier League club after leaving RB Leipzig. (Football Insider)

So we won't be getting either of them then.

Think Phil Hay summed it up when he said: “plenty of top clubs would like to have Bielsa, especially because he can improve players, has a small squad which means spending less cash” but Bielsa like you say is a man of honour and hes on the spectrum, meaning he will only work with a club if everyone is on the same page, Bielsas page. At Leeds he has had them reengineer TA, sleeping pods, pool, running track, coaching staff, academy and loads more. He needs to trust his employers” remeber he walked away from Lazio within 2 days, hes now in court against Lille because they backed out of their arrangements.

as WJ says he will go when he thinks he cant do anymore
