Play like tonight and with a bit of the finishing we've seen from the front 3 much of the season we'll go up.
I'd rather have him in the squad than Slater, but he never signed the contract we offered so it's hardly a surprise we let him go.
All sides will hit a lean spell in a season. Their turn now maybe in their even-more rammed schedule than we have.
Much as he was here. Really think Batty had plenty of opportunities here and didn't create enough (plenty of long raking passes, but not many assists) and was a bit slow to stop the opposition playing. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts well at a new club but don't think that means we were wrong to let him go.
That's why I think we'll do 'em at theirs if they come at us a bit more. Also worth remembering, even thought the last 2 oppo' s have sat deep and limited us getting in behind, it's only the width of the woodwork that's been the difference between 1 point from the last 2 games and 4.
Tonight was a bog standard 4-4-2. McCann’s shortcomings are many but are not simply down to rigidity in formation.
I think he should have signed his contract, knuckled down and perhaps realised that a couple of promising games doesn't make a career.
Agreed, except many on here simply criticise the 4-3-3 even when we're not playing it! McCann is a young manager. Lots still to learn but I haven't criticised the system since last season; playing larkers simply not good enough at the level for the role being asked of them. This year its a question of mentality and leadership and the jury is currently out for me. Can he inspire consistency?
Somewhere, in the dark recesses of my mind, there's a pub team managed by Joey Barton, with Steve Evans as assistant waiting to sign the lazy, egotistical little twat.
McCann's trained him to play in a way that fools the opposition into thinking he's a crap player. When he gets half a chance he'll pounce on the ball at a time of his choosing and bury it into row z or halfway down the tunnel.
Or at this level, in the back of the net 1 in a dozen times, which will get you 15 goals a season pro-rata and international call ups for NI.
