good point, not wanting to dampen the mood any ( cos I'm buzzing at the imminent takeover announcement news) but the salary cap news combined with KLD being confirmed all of a sudden potentially pulls the rug from under a hell of a lot of our squad. Quite a number of them will now know for sure that the arrival of a new, wealthy and ambitious owner, and the shackles being taken off the wage limits means that we will most certainly be casting our net over a much higher class of player going forward, and the mob we've got now will be binned as and when we choose. I'd like to think this squad will be playing for pride and putting themselves in the shop window ( I very much doubt any of them have any decent bonus clauses from the SD regime), but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a unintentional negative reaction , much like when a factory or business gets news of redundancies, the mood takes a drop. It'll be interesting to see.
Any clues as to who he is on there, I appreciate you might not want to just say. Probably one of the tossers who follows me anarl.
I think the players will be fine. Firstly I'm sure a promotion wage rise / bonus will be fairly standard. And even Donald would agree because it was his big pay day if we went up, he'd do anything to try and inspire people to achieve it! Equally I think that footballers need to be a bit over confident. We might look at them and think they're a bit **** and need to be replaced if we go up (or even if we don't in some cases) but I'm sure they probably think they're good enough to go up with us. Even if they aren't, a promotion looks great on a cv. You could see when we signed the likes of Power it was mentioned that he won promotion before. There's a chance it leads to slightly better suitors offering slightly better wages. Plenty of reasons, imo, for them to keep giving their all.
Happy birthday @Micklar. And cheers @Prehab26 and everyone else who has kept us entertained and informed up to now.
