Yeah I should have gone searching for some random graphs about dribbles or something mate, what an amateur. I also trust my eyes btw, the bloke is a £50m ****ing flop. Happy to help.
agreed tell them like it is mate. He's done a good job filling in and michael carrick did the same at utd but lets not start pretending he's a great cb. His strengths are breaking up play and making interceptions and covering space.
is this keita? yeah he's a flop but mainly because he can't stay fit. when he's on the pitch he actually executes a lot of the plan in terms of pressing and making interceptions etc. However he is it strikes me a ball dribbler rather than a great passer. If he actually made 5 game sin a row he's make a good contribution. But its doubtful he will get 5 games in a row
Exactly. He can open things up with his dribbling and getting the ball quickly up to the front 3. No coincidence that we're scored around 20 goals in his 7 starts this season. We need to keep him fit because he can help the team as I stressed, he's not going to solve our problems. He's just a nice addition to have back. I think the Athletic confirmed that they're spending more time with Naby in the gym / rehab to help prevent injuries. If this still doesn't work, then it's bye bye.
To be fair to Fabinho, he has been one of the better CB's in the league this season. But the overall defending across the league has been poor. I'd say only Dias has been consistently good .
Lol random graphs based ... on facts. You claimed that people think he's a vital cog to try and look big and clever when in fact, you're arguing with yourself because no one said he was vital. The senility is catching up with you ...
Good comparison, but like Carrick he has a fine range of passing too. But he's not a CB, and against City yesterday he seemed terrified to tackle after giving away a pen and his booking after hauling Foden down. He should have been given an honour guard by the team for what he did until January, but he shouldn't have had to labour on doing it after that, especially not with the run of fixtures we knew were brewing towards the end of January onwards. Now he desperately needs a rest and to come back refreshed into midfield after a few weeks of being on the bench - something that should have happened five weeks ago.
That's my specific worry. We've never seen him in this situation. Will ne see his arse and do one, or will he stay and fight?
FFS, I would hope he's not Donald Trump and needs to be coddled. But Paisley and Shankly were crucified in the seasons we didn't win the league, so if he can't live with raised expectations then maybe he's better doing a Kenny and walking away. That would set us back ten years rather than a couple of seasons though, imo.
I do not know Klopp personally I don’t have to The guy will stay and fight Will he get it all right and sorted - who knows Last season was amazing Klopp kept dickheads and varying levels of arseholary off our board ffs cause they had nothing Let the mancs and the bitters have their fun This season City were always my favourites to win the title cause I am naturally pessimistic BUT let’s see how we get on before worrying where we are going The guy hasn’t done much wrong to date I do think this summer is a good time to sell Salah though
7 years mana and boy at mainz. 7 years man and boy at dortmund. Our jurgen is not going to throw his hat at it.
he's a different sort of player. I think he actually helps the press as he gets in a good position and in your 4231 formation he would play left side nicely, a bit tucked in though. the issue is he's barely ever fit to show these abilities.
As I said, I've felt like that on here for a few weeks. I just either ignore/skip passed comments or avoid certain threads (usually match threads) at particular times. Failing that, I'll just not comment as much; if you don't interact then your less likely to get drawn into anything.
There is plenty of understandable negativity here on this board but frequently the hyperbole clouds the facts. We lost 4-1 but we were 1-1 when Allison committed these 2 two disastrous errors. The 4th goal was an embellishment but we were gone at 3-1. No denying that City were the better team and deserved the win but it could have ended 1-1 or any other draw without the GK mistakes . We won’t know now. We have recruited 2 CBs. It will take sometime for them to integrate into our system but with Fabinho and Henderson we will have more than decent defensive midfield cover. So the good results should return. The title is gone. We would have liked to have fought for it much better but we have to accept reality. Once we lost VVD it started a chain reaction which destroyed the system which gave us all these wins last season. Data suggest that we are the team most affected by the lack of crowds. the Anfield did help us a lot last season and previous seasons when we had wins there. So our team as good as it was was not perfect. The away performances in the CL against the top teams suggested that. Bad results away were reversed by exceptional results at Anfield with the unique crowd support there. So let’s stop feeling sorry for ourselves. We still have a lot to fight for. A top 4 atm looks a more than satisfactory consolation. And a good run in the CL will also provide a big boost for morale.
Nope. His injury record was really good actually. The issue is that he picked up a knock with us but was forced to play for his NT and they completely rushed him and overplayed him (something that they constantly do). And then he suffered a really bad injury from Rakitic when we played Barca. Same thing happened in that he recovered but the NT rushed him and overplayed again. The Athletic reported that the team are now taking their time and in fact giving him extra recovery sessions so he can fully recover from those injuries and build the muscles. I think it's last chance saloon for him and hopefully this will work.
Wouldn’t play both centre backs. Fab is fine back there along with kabak. Hendo Thiago Gini as a normal midfield 3. Hendo can go back to playing on the right to help push TAA on further up the pitch.
**** midfield Get the guy who has the discipline to stand in the position and secure the defence in place as no 6. Play the 4 cbs. have ONE weak player in the side not a cobbled up mess. Thiago needs to work up to fitness.
J Agree with that. What's frustrating me watching us this season is our build up play, we're really slow and rarely go for the jugular when on a counter. We seem to keep stopping, letting the opposition get back and then expecting Thiago to produce some magic. There is a stat somewhere that says we're averaging 65 more passes when Thiago plays. Not sure if this is per build up (which would seem extremely high) or throughout the ninety minutes (not worth mentioning). Wouldn't mind seeing what happens if Thiago doesn't play. This bad run seems to coincidental in line with his return from injury too (certainly not blaming him, he's a top quality player)
