A gay guy walks into a rough pub in Liverpool walks up to a big muscular guy and whispered something into his ear. The muscular guy knocks him out. The barman asks What did you do that for? The muscular guy replied He offered me some sort of job.
The translate option throws up some beauties. Thermals and hip flasks for the next couple of weeks. "This afternoon the snow cover will grow to 5-10 cm in many places and there will be about 15 cm of snow locally. In the north 2-10 cm can fall, especially on the Wadden there is not much snow. Snowfall is also limited to a few centimeters in the south of Limburg. Most snow is expected in the east, around the Veluwe and in the north of Limburg and the northeast of Brabant. Ultimately, there may be a nice pack of 20 cm in some places or possibly a little more. A moderate to (fairly) strong wind from the east to north-east not only makes it very cold, but also chases the snow through the streets. This can cause snow dunes. In the northern coastal area the wind remains strong to stormy with the risk of heavy gusts of 80-90 km / h. It freezes 1-6 degrees and the wind chill is -9 to -14 degrees in many places. Tonight and tonight there will be less snow, but even then there is a high risk of nuisance due to (previously fallen) snow in combination with a strong wind. However, the heavy gusts of wind in the north will disappear. It will be a cold night with a minimum of -4 to -8 degrees. Monday is winter with a frost of 3-7 degrees in the afternoon. In South Limburg it freezes 2 degrees. With a moderate and (fairly) strong (north) east wind on the northwest coast, the wind does not blow as hard as on Sunday, but due to the lower temperature it feels like -12 to -14 degrees in the wind. It remains cloudy and it can snow now and then. The days after that it is icy cold with 3-8 degrees of frost during the day. The nights become bitterly cold with a minimum of -8 to -15 degrees and possibly a little colder. There are then cloud fields and sunny periods. Sometimes a little snow can fall. The wind stays in the east corner and is moderate in force."
Sad to say Tigger died this morning, 14 and a half .. so a good knock. Collapsed as we were about to take a walk, died within a minute or 2. She laid in state on the sofa for few hours and we buried her, just now, at the top of the garden. So we will raise a glass or 2 this evening. She was a star, good company and much loved. My avatar is a pen an ink drawing and catches her character.
Not a dog owner but appreciate the position they hold in the heart and the family. Sending condolences.
sorry to hear that Tigger. Always sad when we lose a pet. I lost my last hen Saturday. She hadn’t gone up to bed Friday night and I found her at the bottom of the garden that evening. I popped her in her hit with some extra bedding, but she didn’t survive the night.
Well that's disappointing. We were forecast to have snow from about 6pm yesterday, until we got to 6pm and it got pushed back to 9pm, then 11pm, then 2am. Woke up this morning expecting to open the curtains to a white blanket but alas, not a spot.
I have never enjoyed snow, as an adult, something that was brought home to me when I managed a newsagents and four paperboys/girls didn’t turn up to do their rounds “because the snow was too deep”. It was about 3 inches. I spent the morning traipsing through the snow doing their jobs and getting progressively colder. Soft southerners.
