The reason they would never get my vote is because they are s22t. Thank god they were not involved during these times as we would be in a worse state and would never have vaccinated so many people.

Give it a rest Ellers...please. i watched that and yes maybe not best interview. But please stop with your nicknames. Its infantile. 'Ed millibore' ' Captain hindsight' etc. The sad thing is you often have good points but you let yourself down by taking a condecending view on other posters. Like passive aggressive...anyway please sort it out as is poor form. Just my opinion.

It’s a real problem. And yes mate, sometimes the brutality of it all sticks with you. I wish I had an answer

In all fairness Surrey have you seem some of the names people have used to describe Boris or other government figures on here? I think ‘Millibore’ or ‘Captain Hindsight’ is tame compared to the term ‘nonce’ to describe other MPs. I think posters need to be fair in their criticism of other posters. By that I mean when others use nicknames I expect you to be just as critical.

However I will take on board your comments and will try to be less colourful when describing MP's. :emoticon-0148-yes:

And I promise to stop referring our resident idiot as ‘Eelers’ when he stops avoiding questions like a slippery eel and putting people on ignore when he knows he’ll get asked awkward questions that he can’t answer.

A genuine problem for Labour is being led by a lawyer - lawyers are notoriously cautious and risk averse. But eventually a politician has to make it clear to the electorate what he stands for and what his priorities are. Starmer needs to come out of his shell

This was exactly what I was saying in the early days. Sooner or later he will need to commit and that’s when he will be in trouble. One of the Labour spin doctors described him as ‘invisible’ over Christmas. All this flag stuff will backfire IMO. Personally Goldie they should have supported the government a bit more over the last few months... not too much but enough to make them sound credible. The vaccine roll out is a game changer and they missed the boat on that.

I think Peter Hitchens sums Labour up pretty accurately here...

I think he's better as a lawyer, Ellers. There isn't really a leadership candidate in Labour at the moment that I can see is PM material.

Yes, Starmer knows if he moves towards a business-orientated strategy like New Labour did, he could cause a split in Labour with the Corbynistas who are still there in large numbers. But if he doesn't, he will not be attractive to the electorate. He's too cautious to make a decision. It needs a bigger beast to do it

Agree. The best bloke was David Milliband. He may have caused the Tories the most problems. I seriously can’t tell you of any others.

Labour's main support now comes from metropolitan liberals and they are completely out of touch with the electorate, as shown by the ones who post on here.
When Corbyn lost, they were completely dumbfounded as to how and why it happened.

Partly correct Col. You must also factor in the complete hatchet job that Corbyn suffered upon him by the right wing press and others. You only have to look on here to see how it was lapped up and believed.
