We’ll be fine. Like Liverpool, we’re having a bad patch. Unlike Liverpool, our options are **** or ****. But like they will, we’ll slowly turn it round.

Mate did you watch the **** we played under Puel, Hughes and Pellegrino. Yes we are **** at the moment, but we have had some great days under Ralph, beating the scousers a few days ago.

I believe Ralph will work out the issues, not like the Muppets before.

Who would you replace him with, Iam Sue Ancelotti would race down here

I genuinely whole heartedly hope you're right and I'm wrong. I'd love nothing more than being just content at the end of the season.

I was back and forth like a ping pong match in the last 20 minutes... Kept saying to myself we need to play as wide as possible, but then the ball kept finding its way to Redders on the right touchline where, bless him, especially in today's conditions he is as useful as an umbrella underwater. So I'd say to myself get him inside for goodness sake... And back and forth I went ad infinitum. Much like our passing. Sorry.

Ralph undoubtedly needs to develop a plan b - our style of play is mostly exciting to watch and works the majority of the time but we rely on the opposition pushing up and pressing when we have the ball to create space and stretch them. Teams down to 10/9 players won’t do this and neither will a lot of defensive teams.

Ralph is not perfect - shock. But aside from the last week he has brought us so much excitement and passion despite having one hand tied behind his back how anyone can even question his position as manager is beyond me

For as poor as we were, we were probably the width of the goalpost away from winning that game. Had Ings' shot gone in, I think we would have scored again. Small margins. I will totally forget this loss if we beat Wolves on Thursday. :)

Agree with the sentiment but not sure about Salisu for the cup game. Play Bednarek and then let him rest

Difficult to develop a Plan B though with such a small squad, and limited spending power. Sort of forced into making Plan A as strong as possible.

Ans in any event, some managers like to just focus on making Plan A as strong as possible. The majority of people agree that Poch is a great manager, and yet a regular criticism whilst he was here was that he had no Plan B.

Yes Adam, but it is also the best we’ve looked as a side for about 4 seasons, with a thread bare squad (except the last two games)

    Blip. Stop panicking

I disagree. Launch it towards the goal and that’s just what a defender wants. Stick two men wide, keep them there, get it to them quicker than we did and get them to either beat their man, or whip it in early behind the defenders. Then anything can happen

Completely agree however it’s a completely different game when the opposition are protecting a 1 goal lead with 9 men. Even little things like throwing Vesty up top is surely a no brainier in those conditions against 9 men when you need a goal!

Your first line: in those conditions , Newcastle were gifted two goals, but for the second half, they didn’t have to cope with the conditions, they just had to sit and defend. The longer the game went on, the more water on the pitch and Newcastle weren’t having to chase the game and dribble or pass.

Vesty was moved up top. Not sure why people keep saying this.

It's anyone's game I think. Hopefully conditions will be better and KWP will be back. Unfortunately Minamino is cup tied so we'll have to replace him. But we can definitely win.

    100%.

If you just launch it forward you usually end up with a 1v1 in the air, and the defender always has the advantage as he just needs to clear it. You need to exploit the advantage not play into it

When we were playing well (2 whole games back) you could already see the signs of the thin squad. JWP for one example was playing well but looking very tired. We don’t have Pogba on the bench to switch in sadly
