That was a pathetic performance agianst a side i dont rate much at all. After the 9 nil it wasnt the response you would hope for or expect.
McCarthy not good enough passing it out
Bertrand has been average for a while now
Redmond, a player who i defended a lot in the past, has been hopeless for months
Bednarek is out of form and shouldn't be playing at the minute.
Ings not at his best either.
Carrying too many out of form at the moment

    On

    Move

Rearrange into a well know phrase or saying.

We always knew it would end like that. Frustrating? Yeah, but **** not only happens - sometimes it keeps happening. We'll get over it. Just more slowly than other times. Am I pissed off with having to get over stuff? You betcha. But Ralph will get us out of this hole.

Absolutely. We have players out and just coming back. We’ve had two poor performances this week, as the games and injuries caught us up.

I have no doubt whatsoever that with players back, we look a very good team again.

To out this into perspective, we have just had the two poor performances, that’s it. We’ve had a run of bad results, but I’m not worried about that and I think these last two are a result of the lack of players. But we all knew that back in September.

My only concern is that the cup game may come just too soon for those players coming back. Hopefully KWP is available and we can get the win to go through to allow Theo and Diallo to be fit for the quarters. It will be tough though.

He was not great, but no means a shocker. He did that against Man City

Seriously though we should have done better but we have had the stuffing knocked out of us especially the last two games. No need to panic just yet it only takes one win to get a bit of confidence back I just hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Who will post the Ralph: stay or go? poll?

Remember Ron's run in 2015/16 and where we ended up.

I feel far, far, far worse than on Tuesday. For me, that is easily our worst result of the season.

Redmond simply refuses to take any of the chances which Ralph gives him. Once Theo and Armstrong are back, I can't see him featuring much more this season - he's our fourth, or fifth, choice option.

If Fraser keeps a 4th clean sheet on Thursday, I'm not sure that we could justify dropping him for McCarthy. Of course we should be scoring against 9 men, but that doesn't excuse how bad Alex was for the 3rd goal. Which ultimately was the winner. Gunn was moved aside after the first 9-0.

I agree. I was watching with my boy and commenting how poor he was today. He should have scored the header, just needed to loop it up. Too many touches in the box and chances were gone, sign of low confidence

Any Saints fan who wants him out needs their head testing. Ralph will turn it around (again).

It was tame passing the ball across the penalty area befor lumping the ball into the penalty area. They needed to get to the byline and cross from there. Make the 9 men work hard. Saints made it easy for them.

No 7, I don't think it is just today. We rarely have urgency. We seem to have a rigid game plan that works well a lot of the time. But when you are trailing with two or three minutes to go, maybe just be a bit more direct

On a normal pitch we would’ve at least drawn, of that I’m sure. Made running direct at them basically impossible.

Should’ve lobbed Vestergaard up front for the last 10 and played for the seconds

Yep, Ralph needs more work with them in both a man up and man down scenario. We failed to break down the Gooners with 10 as well.

100%, the most frustrating game I have watched in years. Fraser in for the cup game, Djenepo for Redmond, otherwise unchanged if there are no further injury recoveries.

Slight fact - Minamino’s goal was our first from open play in 9 PL games!

100% for me this is down to the players not the manager.
