I read an interview with Andy Elbows this morning, and he says the stress of not winning games is really getting to him and others. Affecting his sleep apparently, but not his thinking as he openly stated that if he comes on as a substitute he looks to “smash” a couple of the opposition players to unsettle them. Hardly a secret because his whole career has been built around using his strength to bully players, but if the referee could be on the look out for those challenges it might help.
You forgot to include putting the winger into the stands with a ‘shoulder charge’ and avoiding scoring own goals at corners. Ok maybe that was just me.
Just checked and miraculously he has only 2 reds in 243 appearances for Newcastle. Definitely due a hat trick of reds today then. Only Carroll could be stupid enough to say that in an interview and it’s a shame he’s never fit enough to start as he could be off the pitch sooner. Let’s hope we can at least add to his difficulties sleeping...
