Busy day tomorrow(today). Daughter got her new house last week, so dad is handyman. 1.50 Sand Hitman 2.20 Sand Native River Singles and double. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to pick more. Have a good weekend gents. All the best with yours
Quick thought on the ICH. I like Sharjah a lot, but his inconsistency doesn't lend itself to being brave enough to back him at prohibitive odds. Honeysuckle is as tough as teak, she isn't flashy, but has such determination and will to win, which is why she is unbeaten coming in to this. Saint Roi might well need better ground as he seemed to lack that gear we saw last year when push came to shove. There is one I like for this Champion Hurdle race and that is Saldier, Paul Townend rode him over Christmas and he was beaten out of sight by Sharjah that day, but he again chooses Saldier for this, there has been some murmuring about his well - being which was postivie and purely at the price, I'll side with him for this today, in what looks an open race. Bet - Saldier 12/1 Irish champion hurdle. A couple of others I'll be siding with - Gentleman's Game 12/1 1.05 unbeaten in one point run and one run over hurdles, he looked very imposing winning that Cork hurdle race and I think he's a bigger price than he should be, owing to his not so fashionable trainer, Mouse Morris. Epson Du Houx 6/1 2.45 - Henry DeBromhead trained gelding, made a mockery of his opening mark, following on from a cosy maiden win and this will have been on the agenda prior to that last handicap run, suggesting that he is still more than up to the task. I expect he will be ridden prominently and hopefully have enough staying power to beat his more exposed rivals. Have a good day folks.
Yes, that he does. I realised my mistake when i had it written out, I knew it wouldn't be long until it got corrected too hoepfully I have the wrong logic, but right horse
A whole bunch for you to avoid assuming all meetings go ahead. I won't attempt any reasoning, but I like in particular - Gentlemensgame, Christopher Wood and Caribean Boy Leop 13-05 Gentlemansgame ew 210 Franco De Port ew 315 Abracadabras San 115 Caribean Boy 150 Dame De Compagne 220 Bristol De Mai 255 Foxboro ew 330 Diese Aba ew Muss 205 Christopher Wood 345 Classic Escape ew Weth 230 Ask Dillon ew Good luck all
Charles ' honest as the day is long' Byrnes has won the 3.50 at Ltown the last three years in a row. Won't be a popular winner if he makes it a four timer especially after his recent shenanigans.
Morning all...bets today: Sandown 1.15pm Caribean Boy 11/4 win. Looked impressive when beating fiddlerontheroof but disappointed last time. I feel a better effort this time. Musselburgh 2.05pm Christopher Wood 7/2 win. My strongest chance of the day.. Musselburgh 3.45pm Le Breuil 7/2 win. 2nd run after a-wind op, with the national the aim. Bound to go close in this.. Leopardstown 3.15pm Saldier 12/1 each way. Talented and hoping he puts in a better effort today... Good luck all!
MR ONE MORE 7/1 Sandown 1:15 Very lightly raced due to one or two niggles but is a really interesting horse on his early form. Beating the likes of Le Breuil in a bumper, Summerville Boy in a novice hurdle and Lalor in an introductory hurdle. His comeback run was full of promise but then he failed to see out the trip at Kempton. He could be very well treated here today with the one imponderable being the ground.
Great field in the Arkle, Unexpected, Franco Du Port could both be super stars and the next 3 in the betting are just below top level. Odds on for Energumene looks very short to me, but those in the know must have marked as a super star. Anyway, a race to watch rather than bet, although I am tempted to lay the favourite. Why is not on on ITV? Excellent card in Dublin, going to follow a few tips from above! At Sandown, Dame De Compagnie appeals at the price, takes a good horse to win the Coral Cup. 2:55 - Benatar ran a great race last time after a long lay in a top handicap. This race looks lower quality, just put off having to carry 12:1
What a weekend of sport we have gents, class everywhere, just picking what to watch is going to be the biggest challenge...!! Anyway, here's the runners burdened with my extra weight of being tipped up... Muss 2:05 - Torigni, 9/2 2:40 - Runious, 9/2 3:45 - Dino Boy 6/1 Sand 2:20 - Bristol De Mai, 11/4 3:30 - Kiltealy Briggs 5/1 Leopard 1:05 - Gaillard Du Mesnil, 2/1 2:45 - Aramax, 12/1 3:50 - Drop The Anchor, 12/1 Good luck to all who are playing this weekend, lets hope for some good action across all sporting arenas today...
My thinking is the deal ITV did limited them to a certain number of races? Either that or they were worried about a clash with the Edinburgh National I think Energumene is a very good horse BUT does he have the speed for an Arkle? I know they successfully dropped him back to 2 miles last time but I don't think that race gave us a conclusive answer. Today should, but as you say, he is awfully short.
