Just checked in! Sad to see Lawrence get a duck on what appears to be a slow pitch that is giving very little to the bowlers, Somoeone willl corect me on that issue and so be it, Pleased for Root getting a century and hopefully shutting up his critics.
Well he has his detractors, not me, I hasten to add. When England lost to the West Indies in the first test, these guys were rapidly criticising his captaincy, batting, táctics not realising that he has the full support of Broad, Anderson and the rest of the team who would tell him to go if he wasn't up to it. IMO he is a guy who learns from his mistakes. He will make mistakes in the future but that shouldn't detract from his captaincy capabilities. As a batsman, possibly as good as Gower, who to me, was supremely gifted!
