With the Hornets and Cherries losing at home and us dropping points the momentum shifts towards Swansea and Brentford who seem to be hitting form. Friday’s game is significantly important - hopefully the Swans will play an expansive game which might help us. Our better performances have come against teams who try to play football.
That's certainly a positive to draw from these goalless draws, as our defence is looking solid, particularly the Handley/Gibson partnership and the cover Skipp is providing in front of them. Giannoulis has had to adapt during two very difficult games. He was caught out a couple of times tonight, but also fitted in and played well most of the time. He needs to build a relationship with both Gibson and Cantwell, but the potential seems to be there.
NCFC Numbers Congratulations to Tim Krul who becomes the first goalkeeper in Norwich City's history to keep seven straight league clean sheets in a row please log in to view this image It's 775 league minutes without conceding for Tim (the previous record, held by Kevin Keelan, was 631 mins)
Agree. Look to the positives and you can’t win them all in this league. A good point gained this evening. We’ve wanted a more solid defence for a while (though frankly we should have conceded today...)
The only issue with Swansea is their defence has been tighter than a gnat’s arse this season. If I’m honest, without Buendia, I think Friday’s match has a good chance of being really quite dull scoreline wise - and while I wouldn’t say this normally, we need to prioritise not losing. I agree with your comments about hitting form, but it is a long season and I am not sure I believe that both Swansea and Brentford will keep up this form for the rest of the season. We just have to hope that our form also returns.
Nice to see last night that a minutes clapping was afforded in respect to Capt Sir Tom Moore who passed away. Apparently no Premier League grounds followed suit. No surprises there then.
Perhaps if he had been a drug addict criminal that kidnapped and robbed a pregnant woman and died of a Fentanyl overdose all players would be kneeling down before every game for months . We are living in a woke upside down World.
A new pitch is laid every two seasons, the current pitch was due to be done in May last year but as the season stopped in March and finally continued in July with little time in between this season starting the plans were put on the back burner, so providing this season finishes according to plan the pitch will be redone this May.
