Well i made a right pigs ear trying to embed a Tweet from Blackmore. It said something about Ralph was fine this morning, fully focused on the job. Im sure one of you young technophobes can find it a do it. If not, I imagine Fran is better than I at this ****
I'd like to know if Mike Dean Is the worst Ref there has ever been? Your inept decisions are starting to trend You’re even worse than Kevin Friend Our resident Ref Tom sticks up for you guys But even he could not believe his eyes Martial said it wasn't a foul But you thought Red card and a pen somehow When fans are allowed back You'll be getting our Jeers For nearly reducing our poor Ralph to tears As for Lee Mason you won't get off scot free For you're nearly as bad as he Getting you both twice in two games I don't mean to be rude But before a ball was kicked We were Royally screwed But what really annoys me is that I've wasted a poem On you pair of twats
Not sure if verbatim but he definitely said stuff to that effect. Think we had a thread discussing it at the time.
We’ll have to agree to disagree on that. When a team puts the ball into touch, because an opponent is injured, everyone expects the ball to be returned to the team that put the ball into touch. And as happened a season or two ago, when that doesn’t happen and a goal results, all hell breaks lose. Not totally the same but it shows that there is room in the game for sportsmanship and with the game already won, at 6-0, it would have been a poke in the eye for Mike Dean, if nothing else.
Brilliant, I salute you sir! That should be inscribed on a plaque at the main entrance of St. Mary’s.
This might not be popular but despite the horror tackle by Alex Jankewitz which screwed us last night I really do hope we give the lad a fair chance to redeem himself. Yes Ralph looked furious and ready to throttle him but I'm sure he will sort him out. He is only 19 and all that stuff about him wanting to leave could well have been just media bollocks, or even stirred up by his agent. As fans we can't just bin a young kid off because of one act of madness, and I'm sure that's not who we are. It would be good, and in the spirit of fairness, and club solidarity if you like, to get behind him and see this as just a very hard lesson he has learned and hope for better things from him in the future.
I agreed with you at first but thinking about it the FA are manipulating the rules enough to theatricalise (is that a word) our game, it annoys me when a player is writhing around in agony t'other team puts the ball out it takes an age to reset the game only for said injured player to start sprinting around. If we introduce deliberately missing pens I think we accelerate the slippery slope that the game seems to be on. Just do everything possible within the rules of the game to win.
Hopefully JWP speaks for the squad as a whole, and he was very supportive in his interviews last night,
I confess to being in the “give it a chance, it will surely get better” camp until recently, but no longer. It has to go, and the stupid arm/sleeve/handball law along with it. Edit: And the even stupider double jeopardy rule, which meant than if Jan had given away a pen by scything Martial down, it would have been a yellow, whereas avoiding any contact at all but giving Martial the excuse to dive meant a pen and a red card. I will never, to my dying day, get over that one!
Game's gone. It's no exaggeration whatsoever that VAR is causing the slow painful death of the beautiful game.
if not done by anybody else, I’ll be on it early evening... been a busy work day today. And oi @Le Tissier's Laces - I heard that!! Never underestimate the power of a full on fats thread.
