I'm inclined to think he will put out a stronger team than you might anticipate. 'He' wants to win this thing. Lincoln won't have as many like for like options as us, so their team won't be that far removed from a first team squad I suspect.

It was the results that were more embarrassing than the fact we were there. Return leg wasn't brilliant either.
Demeaning for a club of our standing to have to slog it out with these rural lower leaguers. Upsets will always happen- especially against route 1 long ball merchants.
One memorable match there for my husband a day before his 8th birthday in 1946. The first game played at Boothferry Park.
Programme cover would have been like this one. The colours Harold Needler wanted us to play in after changing our name to Kingston Upon Hull AFC. Fortunately he took notice of opinion and changed his plans. I wonder if it had gone ahead if there would have been uproar and chants of 1946, 1946 We've been Kingston Upon Hull AFC since 1946 if Mr Allam announced the name was too long and he was shortening it to Hull City? please log in to view this image
I remember one match at Lincoln. Was walking with some mates looking for a pub. Heard a rumble of feet and my pal said the classic line “ don’t look behind you”. Turns out it was our lot who did us a favour by clearing a mob of Lincoln out of the way allowing us to proceed to the pub.
The most lax constabulary in the country Country Joe and the Bumpkins have been performing the same sketch in the High Street for some 40 years.
It was nil nil at half time. I went with two friends in a car - via Doncaster, Bawtry and Retford (not intentionally - we just didn't look at a map!). Ended up unable to exit a yellow box in the middle of a major junction in Lincoln centre with a Traffic Warden taping on the window asking when we last read the Highway Code. Certainly gave women drivers a bad name that day. Got there at half time only to watch them put 5 passed us in the second half. I've had a few away days like that.
This should be compulsory viewing for our strikers before games. Waggy was always in the right place but he scored because he hit the target and kept the ball down. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...=ken+wagstaff+footballer+youtube&&FORM=VDVVXX If the link doesn't work look for Waggy's Highlight reel.
Interesting to see the supposedly bowling green surface of BP in some of those games. It was worse than the Accrington pitch which supposedly making playing good football impossible. Or maybe City were using the good areas of the pitch they knew like Accrington were according to some.
