The UK has now vaccinated 90% of over 80's and 50% of over 70's. They've cocked plenty up, but there's not much doubt that they've really got their arse in gear for the vaccine roll-out.
I am 70 and on the extremely vulnerable list and haven't had mine. Neither has my son's partner's mum and dad who both over 70 and on the extremely vulnerable list. A postcode lottery?
Just spotted below elsewhere, hopefully works... If you are eligible you should be able to book your Covid vaccination at a centre near you. Please follow this link from the gov.uk website: https://www.nhs.uk/book-a-coronavirus-vaccination/do-you-have-an-nhs-number
Credit where due. Investing in a factory to produce the vaccine in the U.K. in April last year. What a fantastic move by the government.
Looks like no regional tiers but a national approach presumably starting with tier 3 after lockdown finishes, typical now Hulls near the bottom of infections as it will mean a longer delay to not only pubs opening but fans back into stadiums. ""It may be that a national approach, going down the tiers in a national way, might be better this time round, given that the disease is behaving much more nationally.”
There are two weeks to go before any decisions have to be made. Plenty of time for the government to “leak” ideas to the press, watch how the public respond, come up with another idea, leak, etc. The PM could even fit in a U-turn or two. So don’t go making plans just yet On a serious note, national or regional tiers? I don’t think it matters that much as long as they decide a set of rules and then stick to them instead of chopping and changing every few days. The important thing is to keep rolling out the vaccines as lockdowns etc are just to buy time until we can get everyone jabbed.
If you are in a group that has been called forward. You may be able to book your appointment at your local vaccination centre. We booked my wife in for hers and then got the letter two days after. The letter only tells you to make the booking and when it gets sent out you are on the system. If you are in a age group and still waiting, it is worth trying www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination You need your NHS number Remember this is just if you should have received the letter by now.
What if people refuse the jab? Do you think it will affect holidays etc if they haven’t? Asking for a friend
