Even if the family are backing him, it’ll just be his name registered at company house and that is all efl are concerned with. Unless the family have registered a guarantee with co.house. Not saying I’m correct just exploring possibilities for hold up. The reported reason for the hold up may be a crock of sheep dung as far as we know.
From what nixon was saying it’s not that they are actually holding it up. After the disasters with the likes of bury and wigan they have made their EFL checks far more thorough and it’s the extra paperwork involved in that is just taking longer than expected.
Clickbait article..takeover will get signed off...administration issue regarding guarantee. However, we do need Donald gone..
I wonder if some journalists and media outlets have seen how some of our fanbase react to some things in the past, and every now and then they lob a hand grenade out there to stir up a reaction. It's well known that most journalists trawl social media and fan boards for gossip, so they'll know how some fans will react. I doubt we'd be the only ones they'd do it to, but I can imagine them knowing some story like this would cause a blow up on RTG and twitter etc, that would result in more fans going to the papers website causing more clicks and then more advertising revenue. I guess putting out something like this with Nixon putting his tweet out that it's not expected to prevent the takeover gets more attention and clicks than saying new EFL checking procedures have caused a delay in the takeover.
When you say need Donald gone, do you more long term or Donald needs to go now for KLD to be announced?
Whilst we want it done, it makes little difference. Look at the business this window, does it strike you as old regime ? Spending 300k now when no one is spending a penny. Really shows everything about where the club is at.
Exactly this. We’d all like a big announcement and I’m sure it will happen, but we have to realise that KLD doesn’t have to announce anything to us. Anything that comes out of the SAFC media machine regarding the takeover is just a hearts and minds exercise to keep the supporters happy. The real work is done behind the scenes. Looking at what’s happening it’s very clear that SD isn’t directing anything anymore.
What does the second bit mean? Is he being a pain or does this deal/ guarantee tie him in when we want him out ?
It's not a bad theory but, in reality, the amount needed to run the club per annum is probably covered by his interest. The apparatus for the new regime has been put into place and Louis-Dreyfus could actually be at the club now if he chose. There's nothing the EFL could do if he turned up, sat down in the chairman's office and started issuing press statements. However its much more professional for things to be totally ratified, which it will be, before that happens. We've had enough 'wing and a prayer' times with the current clowns, this needs to be done by the book. The club has been a shambles for too long and Louis-Dreyfus seems to realise the entire culture has to change. It's not just the playing staff, it's the entire club and corners can no longer be cut despite the extra effort that entails. The wait is frustrating but, if we're ever to shake off the 'holiday camp' atmosphere we have to grit our teeth and make sure everything is done properly. That's the only way we'll attract people with ambition instead of the half-arsed mercenaries we've suffered for too many years.
£300k for a striker out of contract in 6 months, would Donald do that? Or wait until the summer to try get him on a free and inevitably miss out on him? Hmmmmm
I think you can take that argument even further back than that mate. Would SD be able identify the recruitment team we now have in place, who in turn have identified players we have signed....in a professional manner as well. I think not....someone else is pulling the strings now. I've no idea who mind, as nothings happening....or so I read somewhere.
He would of probably offered £4m after haggling! Ross County: we want £300k SD: how about £3m Ross County: Mr Donald we are happy with £300k but don’t you think £3m is a little overpriced? SD: Bunch of ****ers, you have me over a barrel, sod it, I will give you £4m final offer.... Ross County: Done deal, glad to have your pants down you complete imbecile.
