I was listening to Hessy on Radio Kent on the way home from the game, in which he summed up my thoughts exactly, about us just needing to get the rub of the green.

I've already listened to the same old moans, I've heard about the negative messages going out, I've read other message boards with people having a go and I doubt some of them were even at the game.

Personally I thought the lads put in a fair 90 minute performance today.

People really forget that Port Vale are promotion contenders this season so a point, in the form the lads have been on, was a good result. A bit of quality finishing and we could have been looking at 3 points.

Massive positive was they tried to play the ball on the floor instead of hoofball. Something I haven't seen since the cup game against brighton.

Canterbury - totally agree, that's part reason why I enjoyed the game today. After only 4 minutes Keds taking the ball off the keeper, to just knock it wide, with just little bit more luck that would have gone in.

Well, i thought it was going in being the other side of the goal. We are missing that killer instinct that cody had. Hopefully Nouble and Kuffour can show us the finishing that they seem to be capable of. Starting with that trip to Torquay.

Yes agree, any idea what the situation is with Nouble, when is his loan period up?
We need to try and keep hold of him, although I don't like him on the right, I felt as though he kept wanting to come in but kept getting pushed out again.
Port Vale certainly seemed to be getting a little bit physical with Frank today.

I thought we did have the rub of the green as we did get to take the pen again after the keeper saved it, not many refs would have given us a second chance. Having said that we did play quite well only the final ball was not good enough. Please keep Nouble for another month as he looks quality All in all with the make shift side 1 point was not too bad.

Done a little digging and found that his last game is this weekend against Torquay. Hess says he wants to keep him and Nouble wants to stay also. Come on mr Scally!

Rub of the green? What is Hessy on...we got to take the penalty twice at the weekend, not sure why...because the first one was saved. Brb/Hessy can stop winging we shouldn't be mid table with this group of players. We had enough excuses last season, promotion or Hessy can pack his bags.

Lenny - All managers give a post match interview after a game, unfortunately fans will always take what ever is said as good, bad, excuses, winging, etc. Sometimes it is better nothing is said but then other assumptions will be drawn just the same - double edged sword!

In regards to the term that I used 'rub of the green', I meant that more on the side of pure good fortune, then on decisions made by people, albeit I accept you could argue that is one of the same.

In regards to a mid-table position, yes I agree, it is not good enough but we are not going to help the situation none by stating he packs his bags, to which I do disagree.

Like Stimson before him, I will reserve my judgement until the end of the season, however, if we are still in League Two, then and only then will I voice my thoughts on it.

No fair point brb, but last season Hessy had a whole string of excuses for our/his shocking performance. This season I think he's been very well supported by Scally and has been allowed to assemble a very decent size squad for this league and bought the players in he's wanted. I don't want anymore winging its time for him to perform.

I just don't buy the "rub of the green" excuse for the below par performances this season. I am a firm believer of the old saying "you make your own luck". We are creating the chances but not taking them suggests bad finishing to me rather than bad luck, if we aren't picking up rebounds in the opponents penalty box we need to piut more bodies in there
