No we're not! Us and Lincoln are both on 48, Donnie on 45.

It would be nice to win the league, but getting out of League One has got to be the priority. That sort of stuff can take care of itself. A trophy in the cabinet from my lifetime would be nice.

Wonder if the Papa John's trophy is shaped like a pizza slice?

The point is, if we play like that (and it's happened already this season) and only score once, we have to rely on the defence to always keep a clean sheet.
With the forwards we have it's unbelievable that we create that pressure most home games.

So you only count a shot on target as a missed chance?

Didn't we get a trophy for winning the Championship Play off Final at Wembley ? I'm sure I saw Ian Ashbee holding up something similar to a trophy.

The top scorers in League Two are 9th place Exeter.

Goal Difference is the important statistic.

Well that's akin to a runners up trophy. I mean a title.

They lose one of their games in hand and it soon drops.

This feels like one of those hallmark moments when in two months time everybody will be complaining about us.

    A trophy is a trophy.
I get your point though and believe it or not this team have the best chance of winning a league title then we have had for 50 odd years. A bit of belief goes a long, long way.

It absolutely has the ability to win the league. Hell, it has the ability to be a mid table Championship side. Just, not with the consistency that we are showing at the moment. Get that sorted and we'll piss it.

Get the players to score more of the large amount of chances we create and we will piss it

Just noticed that the second highest scorers in the league are Rochdale.

    In 18th.

I remember in 2018 when we finished the season with 70 goals and were in 18th.

No need to beg, the last time I looked at the table it had Hull City on the top of it. Five points or fifty five points clear, I couldn't care less because only one team can be top and we are it. Every other club or fan in this division would swop places with us at the drop of a hat, except perhaps a few on here.
Also, thinking hard about this, as I do, I've followed this club for well over 50 years and I can only remember on one other occasion when we have been top of any league entering February, and that was in 1966, unless someone has Chris Eltons Bible at hand....
Was it by any chance 50 years ago today, old Div 2, 70/71, at home to Pompey and lost 1-0 in the last minute to a Ray Hiron goal, from memory ?
