    Morning all,

Naas 4.15pm Aloneamongmillions 13/2 each way 4 places. Has the codfather on board, tongue tie fitted and should be thereabouts having finished behind Billaway last time out. Whether he can turn it around with the red hot favourite remains to be seen but its possible there is more to come from this horse who is likely to be heading to the Foxhunters at Cheltenham..

    Good luck all! :emoticon-0167-beer:

Very, very surprised Naas got the green light, and even more surprised I'm about to put up a War Front colt, unraced in 16 months on this bottomless ground. But that's exactly what I am going to do. St. James's Square 14/1 e/w in the opening maiden hurdle. Rachel Blackmore has been booked for the ride and hopes are high he will go close.

In the two graded races, I would be leaning towards Bachasson 6/4 who should be very hard to peg back given his front running style and Escaria Ten 3/1 who made light work of his opposition on 2nd chase start, with improvement to come, he could be the one again today.

A day for being indoors today, wrap up and keep warm, with a nice mug of your favourite tipple. Have a great day everyone.

I’ve backed him today but in the 3 place and match bet markets. I thought the trip today would suit and I thought he stayed on nicely last time without making a race of it with Billaway and Winged Leader.

I don’t think Winged Leader is likely to be suited by the step up in trip and whilst Billaway looks hard to beat, I thought the selection would run a very good race.

I’ve also done him to beat Dragon D’estruval in a match bet at even money. I don’t think Dragon is a proper stayer at this trip and the ground should find him out. Surprised he was second favourite earlier so the evens on him being beaten in the match was very appealing.

    11/8 3 places
    Evens to beat Dragon D’estruval

Dom Dolo could be the value in that Hunters chase, looking for an alternative to Billaway. He's 14/1 - 3 places, or you can take 12/1 for 4 places with B365. Going to be a heck of a slog with all the rain around.

Well, it looks like the Hunter Chases are suddenly attracting interest.

On The Sod has won all five of his races (one under rules, four PTPt) and I'd be surprised if he's not fighting for places at the very least although this is certainly the toughest race he's ever faced.

On The Sod 10/1 e/w (4 places with PP and Betfair)

Hard to beat a good Hunters chase Pilgrim.

Apologies about St. James's Square folks, it wasn't a run devoid of promise, but my head knew the horse wouldn't like the ground, yet I still went with it. He travelled OK and got into it coming into the home straight, but when asked for an effort he had nothing on that ground and the more stoutly bred horse came to the fore. Better ground and there could be a race down the line for him. Hopefully some of my other 3 bets land now.

Bachasson wins with relative ease. Had his opponents in trouble 3 out and nothing ever got to him to challenge. Great servant he has been, and credit to all his team to be able to keep producing him to win at this level. Beacon Edge was backed into favouritism, I think he is a very good horse l, today wasn't his day but up in trip and on better ground that that he will be seen to his best.

Hadn't realised the form trainer Mike Murphy was in. After his winner at Wolves there, the last 5 runners he's sent out have all won. That one had money come for it and ended up going off 9/4 Fav. He has another at Wolves later 3:40 Owhatanight looks like money has been coming for that as well, 11/4 Fav now

Escaria Ten beaten by Eklat De Rire, that one now a perfect two from two over fences for H De Bromhead. The front 3 dominated the race but Escaria Ten could not get up close to challenge the winner and was always being held into 2nd position. One more to go in Dom Dolo...

I don't think we've seen anything too noteworthy. HDB just more or less said they think that Eklat De Rire will go for the RSA chase or whatever it is called now, he could run a nice race in that but I'm not sure he can trouble the main protagonist's.

Bachasson won really well, he's only entered in the stayers though and it's hard to imagine he can land a blow there unless it comes up heavy.

Very little to report apart from that, next weekend will provide more clues with the Dublin racing festival taking place.

Yep I can't wait for that - absolutely fantastic meeting and pretty much everything turning up with the exception of Al Boum Photo. I checked the weather forecast for Dublin and it looks pretty good for the week - might be a bit of sleet around on Sunday but I don't see any danger of abandonment. I guess it would be nice if the big English yards would enter more (especially with Henderson moaning he can't find a race for Santini) but I guess it is more complicated than most year with Covid and Brexit.

Incredibly poor from Dom Dolo, nó idea what the jockey was at taking the horse to the back from a nice early pitch, but he was never in it after that. Hard to imagine he beat Staker Wallace snug enough in a point last time out and that one ran a cracker today. Ground is the only thing you could put up as a possible excuse.

Thankfully the match bet won so covered my stakes. Shows that backing a short price loser doesn’t have to be too costly if you’ve got another way into the race!!

Billaway won but he made a few mistakes when jumping, and if he repeats them at the Festival it won't be easy for him. In any case, he is now 5/2-4/1 favourite.

I was expecting a bit more from On The Sod (6th) and very surprised with the poor performance of Aloneamongmillions.

Just waiting for my girl for Wednesday (or Thursday), I was hoping they could get a slightly better jockey but I'm not complaining, just hope she doesn't burst the bubble. If she qualifies that's good enough for me.
