He did. He had his own bike shop in Swindon when I lived there which is now 9 years ago. Apparently a great bloke.
He was at Palace for a couple of years, and briefly at QPR towards the end of his career. I think he was pretty young when he retired (31/32) after an injury. I believe he was at Swindon too long and deserved to have been picked up by a bigger club than Palace or QPR in his early-mid 20's. No idea why it never happened, but there were a lot of good players around in the 60's & '70's.
think we will win, were due a win against them. got to keep the pressure on those over the water. scrappy 2-1 I will take
Yer, Its a close call re Long and Ingram, but Ingram just nicks it for me, a little more self assured and commands the back line more vocally. Put Burke back in and move Jones in to midfield(he doesnt mind getting stuck in) with Doc and Crowley as cant see George making it today and wont hurt for him and Smallwood to grab a breather, can always sit em on the bench "just in case" A real shame on Coyle, but Emmanuel back for me, just gives that little bit extra going forward. Front line, Whyte, Wilks, KLP. Lets hope they are up for it today and bounce back from a disappointing defeat, I going 4-1 to the tigers
He was a cult figure with QPR fans. Also cored the Goal Of The Season in 1973. Don't think he would have found the pitch at Accrington affecting him too much.
No mention of Lou Macari who took them up to Division One but they were denied promotion due to financial irregularities. If they had survived that season in Division One they would have been founder members of the Premier League. No mention of Glenn Hoddle who took them up for the second season of the. Premier League either.
It was peas and they were supposed to be mushy and were hard like bullets. There was nothing about the meal which had any redeeming features.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I shall add this occasion to my database held on the mainframe computer in my cellar.
