a bit more consistency and it is well within range...have always said we had a squad capable but now we are starting to see them working together as a unit...if the loans and the striker all work out i feel that improves us further and as we have seen in this league, if anyone can put a decent run together they can easy hit the top...and now might be just the right time to get tht run going.
If we can beat Gillingham tomorrow we'll gain points on someone. Charlton v Portsmouth Crewe v Ipswich Lincoln v Doncaster Keep that up for a few weeks and anything can happen.
I'm more optimistic than I was before today's two signings but it's still definitely cautious optimism. The left back has obvious pedigree but we need to see how he adapts to the physical rigours of League 1 and regular first team football. Jones looks like just what we need on the face of it but he's not played much for a couple of years now and even when he was in his prime at Kilmarnock he was still only contributing to a goal every 4 games or so which isn't outstanding for a player of his obvious talent. I like Johnson more and more all the time though and I think we stand as good a chance as most up there.
Agreed, they've had a relatively easy run of games but they still need to be won (us against Burton and Wigan and MK Dons and Wimbledon and Plymouth (at home) and Northampton and Bristol and Rochdale anyone?). Also it gives them good momentum going into their tougher run. It's a mental league made all the more mental by the current circumstances.
We need to emulate that and we'll be right in amongst it. Two canny signings today and another three to go to get a striker. Optimistic!

I think with these two signings that the team is gonna click just like the impact that Bruno Fernandez has had at Man Utd especially with Jones and his speed. Hopefully starting the left back today as we all know the fat get Evans will target Macfadzean
