It’s not just confidence though, it’s coaching. How many of his goals in the last seven games have been resultant from him getting across the front of the defender or running towards the goal stretching play rather than the other way and how many times did we used to see him do those things before Johnson came in?

The restrictions are on what salary you can pay players. I’m sure a players asking price is unaffected.

    I
I think when he got to 10 goals it triggered an extension clause in his contract. Maybe they’ve added on goal bonuses but whatever it is it’s definitely got him firing.

Noticed the other week after he scored the hattrick Johnson said he's still come off the pitch looking a bit glum etc. Says we're trying to get him to have more belief in himself.

Agree with this 100% and another factor is how many more bodies we get in the box. How often under parkinson did the player crossing the ball have only 1 player to hit!!

Clubs can sign players after the deadline and what about loan deals? ... EFL clubs can still make normal loan signings for up to seven days after the deadline. Normal transfers can only be completed after the transfer window if the initial paperwork has been filed and received by the Premier League before the deadline.

I’m desperate to see Hume in this set up (I fear I never will). I’m adamant that the perception of him having poor delivery is a result of having limited, static targets with no movement, anticipation, aggression or determination to try and pick out.

It’d be a different matter if he had 4 or 5 all on their toes, busting a gut to get to the POMO to hit.

A bit worrying, I thought Grigg leaving first would be the way we could get players in within the salary cap.

let’s hope he isn’t like Jack Rodwell and happy to sit on his arse while collecting his big pay packet.

That was my concern, I thought moving grigg on first would then pave the way for someone to come in. Not the other way round.
