Good Morning. It's Thursday 28th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Radrizzani meets with Inter boss

Andrea Radrizzani held a meeting yesterday with Inter Milan director Beppe Marotta, but according to Inter-News, transfer targets were not on the menu.

The Italian media outlet claim the officials were actually speaking about the financial crisis brought by the Coronavirus pandemic, and discussing the solutions that they may find to recover from the money issues which have been building since last March.

    Galatasaray closing in on Alioski

Galatasaray are closing in on Gjanni Alioski according to the Turkish media. Alioski's contract at Elland Road is due to expire at the end of the season, and the Turkish giants want to take advantage of the situation.

The versatile 28-year-old has featured heavily under Bielsa so far this season and has established himself once again as a key figure in the side.

I recall reading an article two years ago where Leeds refused to have anything to do with Galatasaray citing the scenes in Taksim square square in April 2000 as the reason.

I'd also be surprised if Alioski wanted to make the move, knowing it would upset the Leeds fans.

Extent of Llorente's injury will be known today

Diego Llorente underwent scans on his damaged hamstring yesterday. The 27yo has had an injury prone start to his Elland Road career following damage to his right hamstring during an International match for Spain in September.

Llorente was called upon in the early stages of the Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge in Early December, where he injured his other hamstring. Llorente finally made his first start of the season at St James Park on Tuesday night. He lased just 10 minutes before being hauled off injury.

The results of the scans will be known today.

Morning Elland and all my fellow 606ers. Well non football related, we start an extension of 6 weeks of lockdown till March 5th. Bamford is back to doing what he does best and that is not scoring. We need a natural goal scorer, which would mean Bielsa changing his tactics. The Spanish lad has been a waste of money. He has the talent, but it's now embarrassing with his injury problems. As for Alioski, I like him and he's like Beradi in the fact that's he's good having around the place. I hope that this story is just **** stirring and the club should offer him an extension. Although there are some suporters who couldn't care less if he left.<ok>

Morning all. I do not think we should write off Llorente he has been very unfortunate with his injuries. I do think Bamford and Rodrigo could develop into a good striking combination. Both are good footballers.

    Morning all,

I hate to say but I feel Leeds fans over estimate how much the players would care about the whole thing with Galatasaray. Yes it is a very deep wound for the supporters and the club but what reason would Alioski from North Macedonia have to have a grudge against them?
Alioski is at a point in his career where he needs to decide if he wants to carry on being our back up LB or go to another side where he will most likely start every game.
At 28 he also has to think about his long term future and if Galatasaray offer him the right contract then I think he will go.

Personally I would be sad to see him go as I think he is a good squad player to have around and yes I do not want Galatasaray to ever benefit from Leeds but I will not hold it against him and will always hold him in fond memory for his part in getting us up.

You may be right WC, but do we have the time to wait for this to happen. Rodrigo IMO is not an out and out striker and for all Bamfords off the ball work, it's goals we need. Newcastle were a shambles of a side in the first half, but we could have still lost to them if they had been more clinical. I'm not writing the Spanish lad off, but he seems very injury prone. It beggars belief that the two star defenders we've shelled out a lot of money for are both injured. :(

    Morning all

I think Allioski is a cert to happen if what I've just read on Twitter is true that we are going for Jordan Amavi. Do I care if he goes to them, not really it's not like it's Kewell going over there. I think a lot of the fan base will feel betrayed but it was 20 years ago and he's not Leeds born or come through our youth ranks.

The powers in charge of European football need to sort this crisis out and sort it out quickly. The fact Barca are over 1 Billion Euros in debt and at this point you can buy players from really cut value prices is shocking. I was shocked we got a German International CB for less than £20 million. We've got to ask at what point will UEFA and FIFA step in to save the game.

    Good morning.

    Geography not your strong point?

Llorente's injury not being a reoccurrence of the original one is good news. It means it could just be a bit of a tweak rather than a chronic recurring injury. On the other hand it could mean both his legs are knackered.

I'd prefer Alioski not to go to Galatasaray but I wouldn't hold too much against him if he did. He's not good enough for where we want to be and at his age he should be in his prime so he has to do what's best for his career. If Alioski is deemed not to be needed anymore hopefully that means we have a left back lined up.

Instant fixes are very rare, at least with the amount of money we have to spend. And do we really have an issue scoring goals ? We've scored 32, more than double the bottom three have managed and only 5 behind the top scorers (Scum and Liverpool).

It's intresting that you brought up the age of Alloiski cos this had dawned on me a couple of months regarding other players. You look at the players that have been around since the Celino days like Berra and Cooper they're getting on now so how long until they have to drop down back in to the lower leagues, Same goes with Ayling he's now 30. I reckon he's got another 2 years in him then he's gotta drop down.

Let's honestly face most of this squad are champ standard players that have been coached to be better than they are. If you put them in West Ham or Newcastle how many would actually flop?

Well it's been an issue in our most recent results. Great to score 32, but how many have we let in. <ok>

Also the pool and scum are in a better position than us, regardless of how close our goals tally is to them.

I wonder if Ayling sees playing CB as a way to prolong his career. Full backs rely more on their speed these days than ever before so I think we'll increasingly see them have to drop down a level or learn a new role as they get older.

Victor Orta was saying how selling players is good and shouldn't be seen as a bad thing.

He mentioned Leicester getting a big fee for Chillwell and then improving the team/squad with that cash.

So expect some player sales I would say...big question is who's going ?

The league leaders Man City have only scored four more goals than Leeds, our problem is conceding goals but as you say our two expensive defenders have had injury problems. Thats football I suppose, we will overcome keep the faith.

I think we could easily get dragged into a relegation battle. I don't think we can beat many of the top sides, so I don't want to be relying on having to beat the likes of Sheff Utd, Fulham etc etc. My point was that we haven't been scoring recently(ok there was the 5.0 v WBA) so forget about what we did earlier on in the season, it's now that counts.Maybe I'm being overtly worried. <ok>

Exactly this, plus most of the goals conceded came because of mistakes and Bamfords the other night caused a goal. Alioski almost caused one due to him not getting rid. We have seen passes go to opposition who took advantage, we have seen stupid penalties given away and to be fair the mistakes have come from the front and midfield which then puts the makeshift defence under the kosh. When the machine ticks goals will always come in our favour, but when the machine drops out of sequence we can be punished.

We do need goals, we're getting goals, that's not the problem. The problem is conceding :emoticon-0100-smile
