They played us off the park in the first game, so this should be a chance to gauge whether we really have improved recently. Our midfield at least has been much more competitive, and are unlikely to give Franchise the time and space we did last time, as long as Bowyer doesn't do anything silly in his selection, like bring in Watson alongside Pratley in front of the back 4. We might also see Stockley getting a start ahead of Chuks. Fingers crossed, touch wood the defence behaves.
Maatsen's form has dropped off a bit from his previous high standards. I think the change of formation could suit Purrington well as he'll have wide players in front of him, reducing his attacking responsibilities which have always been a weaker part of his game.
Bowyer seems to have got the trick that playing people out of position causes us more problems than the opposition. We are also starting to play better football, although our defence continues to be a liability, and our mistakes are pitilessly punished. We 're still in the hunt for the play offs and another win would be great. I'm not overly confident though, so I'll go for an annoying 1-1 draw. And sadly, I hope Pearce gets no nearer the pitch than the bench.
Tough game ....desperately need a win tho if the fake Dons played like they did at the valley every week they’d be top end of the table. Win tonight and beat Pompey Saturday and we’ll all be happy
At least no fans will make no difference at that place. Stadium MK is a ground with pucka facilities ...lovely to look at like a mini wembley but the atmosphere ...non existent. Even away fans trying to creat one doesn’t work it’s just souless . Was there when we won under Gobbo think Aribo scored one of our goals. Trains were messed up afterwards so stayed in a pub until they got sorted ...good day out
Interesting part of the day, waiting to see what team Bowyer puts ahrt. My guess: Amos, Gunter, Oshilaja, Pearce, Purrington; Morgan, JF-C, Shinnie, Millar, Aneke, Schwartz
I’d like to see this Amos Gunter Pratley Deji Purrington Morgan JFC Shinnie Millar Stockley Schwartz Maddison, Aneke, Williams and Washington off the bench
