theres a few like that who won’t quite get the recognition their talents and careers deserve mainly due to Ronaldo and messi setting the bar so high.

Take them out of world football and the stats of players like suarez, lewandowski, salah, kane, lukaku are seen as absolutely world class. Not saying they don’t get credit but they’d get a lot more if messi and Ronaldo were normal footballers and not one in generation freaks.

    True.

I would also like to add that Suarez is levels above that elite group you mentioned.

wouldnt say he’s massively above lewandowski. Guy goal scoring record is brilliant. But yeah above the rest I do agree

I would. I'm sure Suarez has a better goal scoring record, has done it every level, as well as being a creative and pressing demon. Suarez should be up there in the Messi / Ronaldo bracket.

nah, Lewandowski and Suarez are pretty similar. Lewandowski is a pure goalscoring machine like ronaldo. Suarez is more like messi but lewando is deffo up there.

He's been as excellent and consistent as suarez and not just at Bayern, he did it with Dortmund as well whereas Suarez has only won the big trophies at barca.

You can see the quality of a player without having to resort to trophies won - that also depends on who they're playing with and against. Suarez was easily the best player in our far more competitive league and almost dragged us to the title despite being on the naughty step half the time. I'm not putting Lewandowski down, he's brilliant, but Suarez was a phenomenal goalscorer and entertainer and a little **** all at the same time. Almost every move he made had me wondering how the hell he did it.
Ironically I think Suarez would have had a bigger rep if he'd stayed with us rather than going to Barca, where even he was firmly in Messi's shadow.

There's no difference between sitting at barca and sitting at bayern in terms of easy domestic success.

If you actually look at ronaldos trophies he has badly underachiever domestically since leaving a dominant man utd. It is only now at juve that he is padding his domestic trophy list.

Suarez dominating at atletico is a major major feather in his cap imo.

Suarez is goal scoring record is better than Lewa and is a far better creator as well. And works harder.

Lewa is incredible but Suarez is a better all round footballer. Suarez also has the ability to make those around him better. We saw it at LFC, you can argue he helped get more out of Messi, and now he's doing the biz at Atleti.

lewandowski's record since 2011/12 has been every season +25 goals with the last 5 being 40 (yes 40) plus goals.

his worse season was 25 goals in his debut season for Bayern.

Saurez on the other hand has a mixed record, some up some down. One spectacular year with messi when they won it all. he has 4 30+ seasons and one 50+ season in that time.

Its safe to say Lewandowski is the better goal scorer. Its close as saurez had a big season at ajax before joining us and spend half his time on the sidelines whereas lewandowksi is just plain consistent. I would choose lewandowski as a no 9.

But if i were asked (and i said so back in the day) I would want suarez in the mane role. He's been world class there for barca and would have been for us as well. I'd pick suarez still over ANYONE for that left side forward role.

Then obviously salah is the only guy now given messi's sulking for right side forward.

Lewa has around 460 goals in 680 games across his career. Suarez has around 430 in 660 games. So you can argue the goal scoring records are similar - you can also factor in that Suarez played games in a weak Liverpool side, and has delivered in multiple leagues.

Then you factor in Suarez's creativity in addition to the goals. He has over 100 more assists than Lewa, and not's factoring the number of chances created .

Just in case done of you aren't already pissed off enough about our defensive situation...

Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson Becker are facing a potential flashpoint between club and country because taking part in March’s big World Cup qualifying clash for Brazil may mean quarantining for ten days on return.

    ...Fabinho and Alisson <yikes>

I'm surprised they'd even be allowed to go. How is this sort of international travel even possible atm?

Well tuchel only had to test positive before arriving and could enter the PL bubble with another test so can’t imagine will be any diff for players on international duty. Btw would affect all countries and all players in that case
