Yep agreed. I suppose one of the reasons I jumped on it, a few had said we lost to CPalace because of no pre-season & now this. You’re absolutely right tho; lack of pre-season, limited recovery period, inability to use the cryo chamber & other equipment, etc. hinders the less well off clubs much more.

With Maya Yoshida the benchmark on non academy club legends and 154 Prem games, Jack is well on his way to being a club legend in his own right, nobody could disagree with that.

 

They could. It’s not about comparing numbers of games played. Maya is a legend to me because of how he has always carried himself, how he came across with his actions off the pitch and on it.

I’m not saying Jack won’t turn out a legend, just saying it is ok for someone to disagree with your point if you are counting the games of one person considered a legend against another, which it appears you are.

I hope Jack goes in to be called a legend based on his next 5 years of performances, demeanour and actions off the pitch. He’s certainly putting in some good games at the moment.

Club legends should have far more heart than talent. A never say die attitude that - almost, sometimes - more than makes up for a lack of God given natural ability.

Franny Benali is the absolute benchmark for that.

 

Normally I would be against taking JWP out of midfield but it might be a good idea to play him at RB for this one and bring Oriol in alongside Diallo. I'm a bit concerned about Valery's defending against a good Arsenal attack.

 

Is that even an option? I didn't think Oriol was back from injury yet.

 

If he isn't then I hope that Ralph has been putting Yan through his paces in training.

I’m not sure Franny is the benchmark Archers. If he is nobody else will reach that level of commitment!
