KLP .. this lad will eventually go for more then Jarrod Bowen .. despite his small frame and tender years the lad has got it .. simples.. his movement, vision and little tricks he pulls are quality and its no surprise the team has improved immeasurably since his situation was sorted. Gorgeous George .. buzzed all over the park again and yet again everything good came through him. The rest of the team take a joint 3rd .. each one did their jobs s well .. good professional performance and a special mention for McCann .. thought it was brave for him to retain the same 11 starters as Tuesday and paid dividends well done .. we have to be careful though .. we saw how fatigue kicked in last time so we need to utilise the squad wisely.
George the Honeymonster - Makes goals, scores goals. Why isn't he playing in the Prem??? SHHHHHH. !!!!!!! KLP - Transforms our Strike force. Great instincts, vision, pure quality...and so young !! Greaves - Another future star - Just needs to get that first goal...so close.
Because the Sunderland fans insisted he was garbage CT. how many places are they below us in the league?
Can someone explain the difference in his play this season. Last season he was pasted on these boards. I am genuinely interested in your thoughts.
Everybody was pasted on these boards last season, everyone who is still here is playing better this season.
In my view, my opinion, last season he ran around a lot sometimes like a headless chicken, trying (too) hard to please. This season it is a bit more controlled. Maybe it's because it's a different league and he has a bit more time or maybe it's because he's matured a bit more. I go for the latter and think he is performing great. He is playing with a smile on his face and it shows in his performances. Long may it continue.
He did very little when he first arrived . However when the season restarted in the summer he looked a different player and that form has improved as this season started .
Absolutely. I remember seeing him in the flesh early on at Brentford away and while I think headless chicken is unfair, he was a little like a manic fly, buzzing round annoying people but without a clear role. Bizarrely, I think our abject surrender in the second half of last season - particularly after the restart - was the making of him. He was head and shoulders above the rest, and you could see he cared and it hurt him that it didn’t hurt others. I don’t think it’s the difference in the divisions. He’s quality, has the heart of a lion, and great skill to boot. In fact I’d go as far as saying he’s possibly my favourite Hull City player ever going back even to the Waggy years. I think this team could be as good as that great team, with George at the heart of it.
An excellent post TM. You have summed up Georges qualities and his huge contribution to the team's progress perfectly. As you say he is head and shoulders above any other player in League One and his corners and set pieces are a persistent goal threat. Add to that his incredible energy, and extraordinary vision, and he has become an inspiration to all our players and a nightmare to our opposing teams. We are building an excellent young team around him and if we can keep him he may well become a new City Legend. Lets hope our Owners have the sense to appreciate and keep him.
He won his fair share of MOTM awards last season but seemed to struggle with consistency. By his own admission it took him a while to settle after his unceremonious exit from Sun'lan. I think he really has the potential to become a legend for us instead. He was MOTM again for me today and consistency is now one of his greatest assets. Long may it continue. Honeyman KLP Smallwood
