Going to be honest here, and don't want to sound like a kneejerker or owt, but telling people it's going to happen and making back room appointments is (genuinely) all well and good, but the worry is that the transfer window is closing before long and we really need at least two or three first choice players in. If it hasn't happened yet then, since the EFL told KLD it was a formality, we should be pushing them to get it done. If it is approved then just announce it and crack on, no one cares about waiting until some other appointment can come in at the same time tbh.

We're not far off; Shrewsbury looked completely **** but this was their first defeat since November and they'd taken 15 points from their last 7 (including wins at Lincoln and Hull) so this season is there for us and there's no reason why we couldn't go on a similar win. With the wage cap really hitting next year, we can't afford to still be here. We need quality in though, before the top two end up getting too far ahead and to ensure we're doing everything we can. I have no doubts it'll be done, but we don't really need Johnson being told to give us little comforts, we need some real movement where it matters, on the pitch.

As mentioned previously I will be amazed if the wage cap still exists. Anybody challenges it in a court of law and the EFLs arse will drop out.

I can only answer for myself ...

... canny, is the answer <cheers>

Next week will suddenly be very busy and we'll all be much more excited ...

... all kinds of things are happening and it's hard to get a grip on it all.

    Mags losing 1-0 ...

    ...Shelvey daydreaming as usual.

That is how the deal was going to look. Then Donald did something that made KLD see through him. At that point he decided he needed to have over 50% so the deal was changed. Sartori isn't stupid, he knows his 20% will be worth more with KLD in charge than it is with Donald, so he'll definitely keep it. KLD 59%, Sartori 20%, Donald 15%, Methven 6%. Haven't heard anything to suggest any of that would change again tbh

I share your frustration but there’s still over a week of the window left and whether we like it or not, this window was never going to kick into gear until the final week.

Hopefully Dobson going kicks things into life. And frankly we are unlikely to spend major money and with the wage cap I doubt we need an announcement to make moves.

    I’m optimistic for this week.

This a perfect example of why the takeover needs to be confirmed soon. The longer it goes on the more doubt there is because this is Sunderland and nothing ever goes smoothly for us. Also ilthe delay gives the opportunity for certain people to make up rumours that just add to the uncertainty

Had us defending for our lives in the second half.

First game of season. Game against Hull. There was another game where he let a soft goal in. I just think hes absolutely ****. I hate the fact fans are accepting crap like burge. Hes useless

Not really (imo anyway). We were one up and sitting back a bit, but I can't really remember them even forcing Burge into a half decent save all game. We were pretty comfortable I thought. Wish we'd killed it off but it was hardly good chance after good chance. They huffed and puffed and we dealt with everything quite easily.

If that second half was us trying to score being 1-0 down people would be infuriated ...

... it was all aimless long balls, rushed opportunities and chaos.

But, because it's the opposition, people make out they were a class above us.

We were hardly defending for our lives, they hardly had any shots on target. It just turned into a scrappy game in which we couldnt seem to put our foot on the ball till the last 10mins

This^ think some people were watching a different game, yes we were poor in the 2nd half but they barely threatened and just kept launching the ball into our box which were mainly comfortably dealt with

There seems to be no credit that Johnson identified the problem, made intelligent substitutions and wrestled back control of the game.

    Why not?

If this was Ross or Parkinson we'd have made no subs and eventually conceded.

Seriously, can people not recognise the difference!

I thought we were showing signs of wasting time like the Gillinghams of this world do. On a positive note, you could say that it was good game management. Depends on perception.
