these players are cheating like hell with the going down at the slightest touch it has to be sorted out it is laughable but annoying as well, we should have had a pen at that rate but if it is Charlie it happens to no. top 6 best we can hope for now i would take that right now.

Best keeper at the club plays for the Youth Team raw but talented with a great pair of hands and good distribution, the two ahead of him I agree are dire.

Delighted with the the win but that was another unacceptable performance in my opinion, especially in the second half. Don’t really know what else to say, we need players in but can’t see it happening unless we manage to get some out of the door. Be glad to see the back of almost all of the current crop in the summer. Great header from Wyke by the way, Quinny-esque.

Midweek v Ipswich we are 50% thru the season. Lots of games still to play so I'm not giving up hope of automatics. If we get a few decent players in we're not far off.

Missed the match so no comment on that but pleased with three points and another clean sheet.

One point off the playoffs with games in hand. Yet all week people have said it's impossible to get into them without wholesale changes to the squad. Bonkers.

We're not good at the moment, but with some time on the training ground with decent coaches, I can't see why its not feasible to get promoted this season.

I think there are definite signs of improvement for me. First half was good, high intensity and committing plenty of bodies forward. If it was 3-0 they couldnt have moaned. They pressed much higher second half and squeezed the space Grant was in so we lost control. However our centre halves never give up a chance and I never felt they would score. Then last 15 minutes I thought we managed the game well and used some of our own timewasting tactics to good effect. We didnt hang on in the last 10, rather we played out time.

Wyke had a good game, O'Brien was a nuiscance all day and works as hard as anyone. Willis got through the game. Leadbitter was great on the ball and Scowen is starting to be a key player. O'Nien back on the pitch. I also thought Winchester was really calm when he came on and is a reason why we played the game out on our terms. Subs were really well used again. Plenty of positives for me and I think signs are we are improving.

I was gutted with this bit after half time. If I played that first half I genuinely wouldn't have sat down at half time, I'd have been desperate to get back out and get the ball in our possession and go for the second. The captains (power, Leadbitter and wright) should have done the gaffers team talk for him at HT

Portsmouth were recently 'unstoppable' but, in January, they've just been beaten 5-1 and 4-0.

Their next two games are Lincoln at home and Charlton away.

I have to say none of the matches, in this league, are predictable ...

... so I'm just sitting back, enjoying watching our games and hoping for the best.

We played some great stuff today, excellent team goal, clean sheet, O'Nien back, O'Brien MOTM, subs well used, new owner and we won ...

... excuse me if I choose to ignore the opposition lumping the ball forward, for 45 minutes, when they have no choice.

After Tuesday, when we could've won, I'm not going to sit here moping because we did.

Haway the Lads, you're not great but you're all we have at the moment.

Another goal for Wyke, another clean sheet for Burge. We’ve now conceded the least goals in the league, that’ll be worth some points in the coming months.

This is the thing, we've had some defeats this season where we should have took maximum points and taken just 1 or 0 in those.
Wigan, Wimbledon, Plymouth, Northampton . Not to mention the games b4 PP was sacked. We are a gnats knacker away from it...but for the inconsistency.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted over on rtg posters are saying they would rather have Parkinson back! LJ has a lot of work to do as it's not improved much but he hasn't had 5 minutes to do anything. Some Sunderland fans need to give themselves a slap

I know things aren't perfect but imagine how things would be if we'd just lost 4-0 at home as Portsmouth have done.

A flukey win at Ipswich and all of a sudden players believe that bit more, run that bit harder and stretch that extra inch.

Cheltenham are currently 20 minutes away from beating a huge club like Man City ...

... is it really too much to believe Sunderland can get out of the third division.

I'll believe until it's impossible, which it currently isn't.

I'm choked for Mansfield who could've been playing this game and bringing in half a million ...

... it's amazing these clubs keep going tbh.
