    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
For those with ailments best wish's for successful results, at this time it should be a time for happiness, but for some families and there are far many this time round it is a time of grief or sorrow. Expectations of a healthy year are clouded by prevailing life threatening illness. Over the PAST WEEK I have had bad news regarding a couple of friends … non Covid related … and the fear of lesser NHS help due to the demands of Covid is a heavier weight to bear.
Yesterday [ maybe day before a scientist / medic/ politician? made a statement regarding the intense spread of covid "those people who flaunt the advice of social distancing and other advice will go into 2021 with blood on their hands!"....
It beggars belief that that in such a trying year as 2020 " rule Britannia " could have a better leader, on zoom last night 2 friends who are anti Boris [ in the past ?] between them made the statement …. BREXDONE, and now we have our destiny to become the UNITED KINGDOM once again.
AND FINALLY BCFC lets get it done! well started anyways! Premiership taking it we lose against Brentford so have 23 fixture to at least gain as many points as the first half of the season, should turn over 5 of the top 10 and grab a point from the other 5 then all is not lost …. it is looking that 73 points may be 6th place … so let that be our target. Lets not lambast the staff as being incapable, instead go with them through thick and thin till at least season end. DH is on a rolling contract …. no need to get rid of … it terminates him automatically should , in the eyes of the board he fail … lets wish for success.....

may your health stay with you

did anyone watch the 6 part series on Cornish fishing...? Filmed from end 2017 to March 2019 encompassed all aspects of the demise of Cornish fishing.
Back in the late 60's I went fishing in a open topped gloriefied rowing boat with an on board diesel engine capable of going at 5 -6 knots! it was with a local mackerel fisher man in Lamorna cove I was on holiday with wife and 2 kids who stayed ashore looked after in café and the pub up the road ! [ we used to get beer crates barrels, near the entrance so we had a place to park when we got there on a night time ]
ANYWAY it was his living he took one side I the other the line was about 100m long!!! dozens of barbless hooks we were out for 10 hours over 2 travelling to and from including an hour for dinner! we filled loads of "stones" I did 7 ! My reward for my work would be a round in the pub and kids on open house for crisps vimpto for the week left of our holiday the choice of any 1 of the fish caught plus any mackerel whilst still on holiday … the pick of the fish was a 8lb bass.. I picked that! his face was a picture of glum! … we got to about 5 mins from the harbour and was taking the mick saying could have bass for breakfast dinner.. boil it bake fry it... we had hardly spoke he was sorting fish and I was steering .. I said I could sell you the bass but I would like to swap it for the 3 pounder and next week before I go home hope you catch another to take home with some mackerel. Following Sunday 10pm he came in pub with a box do not open it he said till you get home! In it was a 3lb bass 8 mackerel and a dressed crab all in ice wrapped in plastic and £2 for the kids … that Sunday was the last we ever saw of him he died in the February of cancer …. the fishing is not like that now .. every place they went i had been to … now it is holiday homes or holiday rents …
lets hope the new fishing policy as it is helps them out … the truth is in those 6 episodes ….

I can't see any good coming from Brexit for the next 5 years - maybe longer.
We got a fishing deal - great, but the Financial Services sector which accounts for 70%+ of our GDP has been abandoned. Great negotiating that - no wonder the EU negotiator was pleased with it!!!!
Reminds me of the Spitting Image sketch in the 1990s where Norman Lamont got excited because he had won 20p in an amusement arcade. I had a quick look for the clip but I can't find it.

We are seeing the actions of the Dutch border officials which some sections of the press are calling 'petulant' but it's actually business on an international level. If a club loses one of it's major donors that still depends on that club for essentials then you squeeze them (a) to show them how easy life was before they left and (b) to show other members of the club which may have been thinking of leaving how big their challenges would be if they did.
I hope this leap of faith works out - I REALLY do. It's happened now.

covid will wipe away some of the lustre in negotiations it probably wiped a couple months around the table off … fishing will only be slightly better for a year or so … 6 years time … heaven forbid I am around it could get much better 1 in the programme which came to light was the scrappage paid to have your trawler smashed up … due to CFP … then the EU GOT 80% OF THE QUOTA'S ………….

Whilst the fishermen of Scotland and England have different agenda's [ fish types etc ] the demo in London was a mild mannered affair! considering that without "due cause 40t trucks are "banned during certain hours" one hopes they did not get fined. It was a "reminder" that they have problems with their fish type [ shell ] that goes abroad [ a very high% ] for processing in far east before coming back to EUROPE! …. Cornish FISHING on tv is now series 2?

Nissan what a breath of fresh air for NE not only have they got Nissan they can spend their money on watching LJ' s FOOTBALL TEAM ...TIC! Have Honda got it wrong,... ! ..? as they did say it was not to do with leaving EU but more to do with economics !? Could they at this late stage reverse the procedure … or will us Brits all be driving Nissan EV's in the next 10 years!
