He is not a quality centre back because that's not his preferred position. In fact, Celtic have actually hindered his development playing him out of position.

French Eddie, when he's interested is Scotland's stand out player. He cost 9 mill though. Rangers will recoup more when Alfredo leaves.

Over the last 18 months the Celtic squads value has fell while the Rangers squad has increased year on year.. 55 will boost that value even more.

He is and always was a right midfielder. He was put into CB at Celtic park as a stop gap and has been there ever since.

Ajer was a midfielder that Celtic play as CB because they had no other option. Same as Bitton. So its not surprising he's not a quality CB.

Ajer is a quality player. Even at CB for Celtic he more than often does well. He isn't a Centre back though so he gets found out with his positional sense playing that position.
