Excellent thread as always @RTB. I am going for a nervy 1-0 win. Mcgeady with it in the 1st half, then backs to the wall for the 2nd half for a much needed 3pts. It'll probably turn out to be a 4-0!!!! But hey, this is SAFC.
Well Im going for Home Win 2-1 for no particular reason. Im really pleases that I unable to take up my normal seat in East Stand and get by bollocks frozen watching ****e. Something positive out of COVID eh?? Of course I will be watching in comfort of my own bar drinking throughout to numb pain There's a lot to be thankful for
I was going to have a weekend without drinking and sitting watching football .... ... then I thought 'Nah'
I've only sat in the east stand once -once too many -it took bloody ages to get out the exit as well.
Its only meant for old codgers, if you haven't been following Sunderland for 50+ years your application for a season ticket seat will be turned down...
Worth a listen that thanks for posting RTB. He talks about Luke O'Nien, the takeover, the new owner, covid, the Alvarez court case I wonder if he ever thinks that he has given too much information away in his interviews
I've sat all over the ground but my season cards are for the East Stand now, not my choice but the people I go with and I was out voted. My choice was always the North Stand, love sitting upper bowl, behind the goal.
Yeah - me too I prefer the West stand or the SW corner. Sat in front of my laptop is a hell of a lot warmer though
Lee Johnson has given an update on the fitness outlook of his squad, ahead of Saturday’s contest at the Stadium of Light against Shrewsbury Town. Sunderland suffered a setback during Tuesday night’s defeat to Plymouth Argyle with Jordan Willis’ knee flaring up in the first half, forcing him off – but the centre-half trained with no problems on Friday, it has been confirmed. “Jordan trained [on Friday], I think he will be fine for the game,” the Head Coach said. “It’s a patella tendonitis, and anybody who has had that will know that it reacts differently every day. “He was fine in training. He might wake up, though, and have 8/10 pain or 1/10 pain. As I’ve said before, it’s one to manage.” Johnson revealed after last weekend’s win at AFC Wimbledon that Lynden Gooch returned the squad’s sole positive Covid-19 test, and whilst the American will be unavailable for the Shrewsbury test, he can return to training in the week. “Lynden is still in self-isolation, which ends on the day of the Ipswich game. “He’s asymptomatic, and he’s keeping himself fit – it’s just a shame at the moment that it can only be in his garden. It’s frustrating for us and for him, but we’ve had no more positive tests since.” Finally, Luke O’Nien has been named in Johnson’s last two matchday squads as an unused substitute, and the Head Coach spoke of the recent discussions he has had with the 26-year-old regarding his return to action. “I’ve had a long chat with Luke – he’s fit, but an issue is that with his shoulder, he can’t take throw-ins, which pretty much rules him out of playing full-back at the moment. “Other than that, it’s just a couple of the usual niggles and knocks, but generally we’re in good health.”
I know what you mean but I'm not keen on watching football on a screen, I much prefer being in the ground watching movement off the ball and not just where the camera is pointing.
Its OK if you want the sun in your eyes, to politely clap and say well played lads. Whoa betide you if you cheer or feel the need to shout above a decibel range akin to library levels.
Prreviously sat in the North stand. As soon as they moved the away supporters above my head I moved to the West stand. I still say and I believe stats would prove it our home form has suffered since they put the away supporters up there.
