Errrr, is it because they're top of the table with half the season gone Phil https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55727801
There's 6 or 7 clubs, at the moment, who could be classed as genuine premier league contenders. Ultimately, I think it will be between Liverpool and Man City. Man City are looking very good and must surely be regarded as the favourites. Leicester don't have any sort of worthwhile back-up to Jamie Vardy and I doubt they'll continue winning so many penalties (Vardy has only scored 5 goals all season from open play) - A very solid side, though. They should be challenging to make the champions league at the business end of the season.
I think they are challengers but may not have the squad of others which may cost them. They do have a manager as good as anyone else though. Plays quality football, promotes youth, and is tactically sound. Just not as fashionable as some.
The point for me is that Leicester are giving it a go, and have already won it recently, without having an oil country etc behind them and spending astronomical amounts of money. Ie hope for a lot of of other clubs.
I think they are the most exciting team to watch in the Premiership atm., Liverpool are looking a bit jaded up front and Man City have a few weak links, makes it interesting tho' and I could see Leicester doing it again, a well run club showing it can be done by an "outsider" is good for football .
Vardy, who came from the lower ranks of football (like Super Kev) is very important to their progress.
I fancy MAN U to nick it meself, I think they've just started to play as a team, and if Pogba knuckles down and plays as he can, I think they can win it. Very close and interesting battle ahead though, which is how a top league should be IMO.
What i really suspect is the bindippers front 3 will start banging them soon...then they could run away with it..or not!
People massively underestimate Leicester, as if it’s a shock they are where they are. Pereira, Soyuncu, Vardy, Tielemans, Ndidi, Maddison, any one of those would get games at City or Liverpool. Kasper is a top keeper, young Fofana is looking like he’s gonna be one of the best CB’s around, and the other players are all very good, and very consistent. Add to that the clubs ran well and Rodgers is a top gaffer, they absolutely have a chance. Better than Chelsea, you could argue they are at least as good as Spurs too, man for man.
Leicester are an excellent team imo. Great to watch. If we had that side, the SoL would be sold out and rocking every home game, exactly the sort of team and style we should have.
