Players in the squad who I think could do a better job at RB than Kane: 1 GK Joe Lumley 3 DF Lee Wallace 4 DF Rob Dickie 5 DF Jordy de Wijs 6 DF Yoann Barbet 7 FW Macauley Bonne 8 MF Luke Amos 9 FW Lyndon Dykes 10 MF Ilias Chair 11 MF Bright Osayi-Samuel 12 DF Dominic Ball 13 GK Seny Dieng 19 MF George Thomas 20 MF Geoff Cameron (captain) 21 FW Chris Willock 22 MF Tom Carroll 24 DF Osman Kakay 25 DF Niko Hämäläinen 26 MF Faysal Bettache 29 FW Charlie Kelman 30 MF Charlie Owens 37 MF Albert Adomah 45 FW Charlie Austin
I have noted about ten 50/50 tackles and we have lamely lost them all. Mostly Niko followed closely by Willock.
HT 0-0. I think we are missing BOS and Carroll. Apart from a few early crosses from Kane, and some good stuff from Chair, our attacking threat has petered out. Think we need to get Albert on, and hopefully create something for the front 2.
Yeah it’s a bit weak and not the night nor the opposition for it. Not much he can really change though. Maybe Kakay on for Willock and put Cameron into midfield for a bit of steel.
We're missing Carroll, with how he gets the ball moving a lot. I wonder if Chair would be more useful playing central midfield and just creating movement and distribution. Willock could try and hold the ball and take on players nearer the box, and Adomah could have been winger, at the expense of Ball's place in the starting 11.
Anyone got any idea when Kakay is back not sure I can bear watching Kane any more. Also can anyone explain why I spent thousands watching Lumley when I should have jumped on a train to watch Dieng at Donny, apart from the obvious of not supporting Donny!
Kakay is much better, imo. He often links up with players in some decent 1-2 play, can make a cross without hitting the first defender, can defend well and get out of pressure at the back. The only thing Kane has over him is pace.
Like swap Chair and Willocks positions? Think it might be better that way too, but doubt Willock will last much longer. Probably not Austin either.
Lovely cross from Willock defended well. Another short corner eventually cleared. Cameron booked for a bad foul.
