I wort for a company in hendon, and before the 2 duckwits took over we covered some seating at the sol, reception area, bcb, and some of the padded seating, nowt since they arrived. Wonder if the club'll come back?
Didn’t SD say it? Something along the lines of having different ranges of beer and stuff to enhance the match day experience. Then they just went and renewed the contract with the same provider when the time came.
Sounds like typical SD bollocks, saying what he thinks we want to hear but when the time comes just does what’s cheapest.
It's worth doing even if the club breaks even ... ... as you say it makes you feel part of it all. Make the exit through the club shop and they'd make a fortune when people have had a drink.
The same way returning airline passengers pass through duty free on arrival (well at least here they do)
Or when you’re finished on a ride in Disneyland and end up spending a fortune when the sproggs find themselves surrounded by cuddly toys and t-shirts
The clubs share of food and wet sales was 25%vwhen Sodexo had the contract , now that was two years ago on a three year contract. It came directly from Methven & Donald when it was first mentioned at a meeting when the said they wanted local business to supply the club.
Good idea. There was plans to put the club shop over in BCH and turn the stadium shop into a bar iirc, SD spoke about it early in his tenure, but as with everything about the man it was complete bullshit. I expect the new regime will be maximising every opportunity to make our club generate income in every way possible.
No it's the opposite, the club got a set fee and all monies made are Eliors. The bulk of the events put on are Eliors and their revenue although they do some joint events. As the stadium is closed it has probably helped the club as they've had their money and it's Elior who's not earning. But in normal circumstances the club would get their set fee (and fair fo's, no laying out for staff who belong to Elior) but severely limits their earning potential. If we did well and the stadium is sold out all that extra revenue would belong to Elior.
At the end of the day the club has been run as a **** show for years. Hopefully these new appointments help in maximising the profitability and therefore the sustainability of the club.
Definitely because if it's a bad experience or a good one the average fan just thinks it's the club anyway.
Spot on Ozzy. The travesty is that the fans, i.e. you and me eventually just accepted it as normal and that meant other clubs with more ambition were able to overtake us if only for a short time. I mean, over the last three decades I’ve seen Wigan, Bournemouth, Wimbledon, Southend, Wycombe Wanderers all outplay us and go on to better things. Come on, ****ing Wigan and Bournemouth for ****s sake. The club should be embarrassed that teams like that have played in a higher league than us.
So I gathered reading on here. I wonder if KLD has been in discussions with them and takes up the idea
