Found this interesting from Ralph: “We have some problems at the moment with muscle injuries and there are some reasons I think that are responsible for this. “We are in a fantastic building here but we cannot use anything (due to Covid-19). We cannot use our cryo chamber, the sauna, the pool, nothing, and we have still the same games with the same intensity. “We are also limited in eating here together, so everything is not what we normally do in professional football, and there are reasons why we do it normally, so it’s not so surprising in some moments you have more injuries. “It will be a mixed group tomorrow – some guys who have to play, because there are not a lot of alternatives, and some young guys will have to step in and show what they have shown in the sessions: that they are developing their game and deserve to get a chance to play.”
Check your spam. He rang me wondering where you were. He said, 'Was ist los? Wo ist dieser nutzlose fette narr aus Northampton?' I did point out to him the inaccuracy of his description - you don't live in Northampton, do you?
I suppose the big question is - which one of the unknown family will replace Smallbone in the squad tomorrow?
So, has anyone considered that Ings might have been left out of tomorrow’s game, to prevent him from becoming cup tied? Win tomorrow and all might be revealed on Saturday.
Oh no, here we go. Money Saints. Hassan Kashloul Sadio Mon-ey Alex Costlund Papa Wage-o Duncan Spending Vincent Creditcard
I was surprised that Slattery went out on loan. The cup tie will be a good opportunity for the youngsters although I am not convinced so many would have got a game without the current injury crisis. With regard to players being rested pending transfers, I would have to say that I am not expecting much transfer activity at all. I will be amazed if anyone is allowed or even want to leave at the moment. As for bringing new players in, Southampton are a far more attractive proposition these days yet I would suggest that any business will be limited to brining in players from Europe under the age of 21 for future development. The match tonight may go a long way in helping Ralph understand the depth of the full squad. i think we will beat Shrewsbury but was annoyed to draw Arsenal in the next round as I think that will present a challenge. It is a competition Arsenal are good at and where they often seem to ride their luck.
