We're clearly playing to not lose here and hoping we get the odd counter attack. Can't see it working.
Stupid tactics! One time to lay down the gauntlet and we still take cowardice approach. Also, there are no fans in the stadium. What’s the point of making it so cagey when you have well and able players to do real damage? Nonetheless, I hope that we get the three points needed.
Missed opportunity to get 3 points but 1 point shared is better than 3 for the RS and them getting top spot. That pragmatism in action. We had loads of chances to win but a draw is probably a fair result.
Said we were going for the draw This bloke's a dud. No guts when it matters. Livpl were there for the taking.
Still top of the table. Fulham, Sheffield United and Arsenal up next - three **** sides, so 9 easy points
Fulham have looked fairly stubborn last couple of game, they won't be a pushover but we really have to win that. Seems to be the Solskjaer policy to not lose to your direct opponents and then beat the rest. Beating Fulham becomes a must. What was disappointing about today was with a bit more adventure we'd have won that easily. Two decent Alisson saves killed us. We should have created more chances, one would have surely gone in. Liverpool did **** all. A draw is still a good result, even if the perfomance wasn't good.
To me, Rashford seemed off the boil again. A game out with Greenwood to replace him might be useful, for both of them.
Bruno needs a weeks bed rest, he was pathetic today. Not only was his control and passing well off he didn't have the energy to chase down like he usually does and it made a massive difference to us winning the ball back high up because in reality only him and Cavani do that work.
Played on the right again for a lot of the game, he still made the runs but was 3 or 4 yards off-side before any pass came.
Shows that both manager and team are not there yet in terms of confidence. If we stay in title contention for a longer period, that can only get better. Today, I suspected that solskjaer was going for a draw or at least making sure we don’t lose. 3 potential outcomes: win and stay top, draw and stay top or lastly lose and the RS go top. All things considered a draw is not bad especially away at their home ground even in retrospect they were there for the taking.
I thought that too, we had too many players off the boil today otherwise we would have pissed that game
We have yet to win a game against any of the top sides this season. When it comes to the little bits that make a difference, we will be very short come the end of the season if the trend continues. As things stand, City has to be strong favourites to take it.
We've beaten Leicester, who aren't second before today's game by accident. Put Everton back in their box too. Otherwise I agree, we need to be beating the likes of City, Liverpool and Spurs, not drawing with them. Or losing obviously.
As I said earlier the manager and the team currently do not have that confidence that they can go all out to beat any top team. I can understand why at this point he wants to consolidate and not lose that top spot. But he will need to go for 3 points when it comes to the crunch. still too early to draw conclusions. We need to get 3 points in our next match so that we are on tract. We are still undefeated in our last 12 with 30 points out of 36. The RS are now 4 games without a win and scoreless in the last three. That’s why it is a better point for us than for them. No doubt City are favourites but one thing at a time.
