But that's when great managers earn their corn and adapt adapt adapt. If it's blowing a gale even the long ball teams know to keep it on the ground. TBH Doc the last couple of performances have been terrible, I don't think a decent pitch would have made a difference.
Evening all. Anyone got an update on our injury situation? I'm guessing Llorente is now good to go but what about Berardi, Koch and even Forshaw? Forshaw would at least offer us a bit of experience from the bench. The biggest worry for me is that we just don't have options. Brighton had several of their players missing but were still able to bring internationals off the bench. Our go to players seem to be Poveda, who just doesn't seem to offer us anything, Hernandez, who has tried to fire us up when he comes on, Roberts, who, although he looked lively yesterday, isn't consistent, or Shackleton, who does try his best. It seems Costa is done with us, although he is another who promises a lot but delivers rarely. We weren't disciplined enough defencively yesterday. Alioski and Dallas were everywhere which gave Brighton spaces to attack. I don't blame Struijk, he did ok, it's just that Philips would have covered for the FB. It's a worrying time. I've said it before, we are **** after an early cup exit.
Alioski at fullback is a bad choice. Yet we have players who play there but are never given a game. Pascal was put in kalvins role which he was rubbish at before. Heard so many times this season how bielsa has made this group of players prem quality. Brighton were far better than us and should have scored more and they are meant to be relegation fodder. Yet they have a bench far better than ours. We will soon be in a relegation scrap i have no doubt.
He has improved a mid table championship bunch into league winners and deserved a chance in prem. But as you say their bench even with a few players missing was still better than ours. We need to get someone in midfield with a bit of bite, the next bit of recruitment is vital... hopefully llorente will stay fit and bring a touch of class wherever he is put we must arrest this mini slide pronto
So now is a test of bielsas coaching skills. He must make the right choice of starting eleven. We looked better when he changed the set up with klich dropping back. But what is our best side.
He gets paid a lot of peso's to fathom that out his/yours/mine would I imagine be different in some areas.....the only area I would differ to el capitano would be loyalty if your not producing try someone else and see if they would....the only unswerving loyalty should be to the better half, she's looking over my shoulder
Yes a couple of crap performances but besides Wakey who likes fishing there is no reason to start slashing wrists ffs. Only Brighton have made up ground on us this weekend and they are still 6 points behind us. Everyone else lost except WBA and they are a mile behind us. Can we try and keep the faith a bit lads,We do this every season whoever's in charge. January is garbage. We should have a full team out next match with a long heared guy at RB and an Irish beardo at LB
Now for me that is a boring sport, but it's unfathomably popular think I'd rather slash my wrists...on second thoughts what's perch like with chip's
My only concern is that the performance level has dropped considerably for the last three games. Last season we might put in a 45 minute horror show but rarely was it for the full 90 minutes. Yes results went against us but we’d be moaning about Bamfords missed chances, the penalty not given, the woodwork being hit multiple times. Under Bielsa I can’t remember 270 minutes of continuous drab football creating so little and us looking so poor
