That’s one for Beth, it’s beyond me. I also don’t know the difference between vaccination and inoculation, which I see being used interchangeably. I should look it up I suppose......

mmm I smell a rat or a bat depending on what's on the menu? I'm sure some may try to discredit this though.
COVID-19: US intelligence claims Wuhan lab researchers had coronavirus symptoms before first reported cases

The Department of State says researchers in the Wuhan lab were experimenting with a virus genetically similar to SARS-CoV-2.

The theory that this virus started out in that lab is gaining a lot of credence.

I always said it was dodgy Col. Great timing... Hong Kong, sights on Taiwan, trade problems with many countries. The truth will come out at some point.

China has just had meetings with Putin over 'co-operation' and signed a trade deal with the EU, who appear to waive their human rights standards and worker's rights in their rush to complete. They must be laughing their socks off at how they've got away with it...

The EU trade deal with China was easier than ours and we are supposed to be their "closet friends". They sold out to them. Getting back to the virus, it will be interesting if they let the WHO inspectors look at paperwork and access to certain places? Time will tell but the World is watching.

The important thing is that we cling onto this theory to excuse the incompetence of our government over its handling of the pandemic.

Not entirely sure.... but inoculation I think you use the actual or closely related virus/bacteria to elicit the immune response as in cowpox/smallpox

Where as vaccination you use something a bit more distant like the mRNA vector used inthe Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine...or the highly modified chimp virus in the Oxford/AZ case.

But the two terms are used much more interchangeably by the media.

    In my field/ life
I would innoculate hens eggs to grow a virus.
I would immunise an animal to get an antibody
I would vaccinate my child to stop her from getting ill

eer it has nothing to do with the government where this thing originated. Go live in China and talk rubbish? oh, I forgot you wouldn't be allowed to speak out, otherwise you disappear.

People walk on the sea front in Brighton during England's third national lockdown on January 17.
As the United Kingdom grapples with its third lockdown amid a deadly Covid-19 outbreak, British residents are still heading to the beaches and parks in droves.

Thousands of maskless walkers were pictured enjoying a rare glimpse of winter sunshine at England’s Brighton Beach at the weekend.

British media also published photos of packed-out parks and lined streets, as residents left their homes to exercise.

A lockdown is currently in place across the UK to help curb surging infection numbers, however the rules do allow for people to leave their homes for exercise and long as they stay local.

On Friday (local time) Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged people to “think twice” about going out in public, warning that the UK was still in a dangerous situation in its fight against Covid-19.

“There are now more than 37,000 Covid patients in hospital across the UK and, in spite of all the efforts of our doctors and nurses and our medical staff, we are now seeing cancer treatments sadly postponed, ambulances queueing, and intensive care units spilling over into adjacent wards,” he said at a press conference.

Despite ****ing up virtually every other aspect of the pandemic the vaccine roll out has been impressive so far. Or it certainly appears that way at least.

I just hope Boris Johnson holds his nerve and doesn't release lockdown prematurely.

Dominic Raab, on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government, declines to confirm that everyone will be given the second dose of whatever vaccine they have had, or any second dose at all. My views on this ****wit don’t need repeating.

A lot of scientists saying that, if we are not going to follow the evidence produced by trials of the vaccines in use, we have an obligation to run trials on the way we have decided to use them. Makes sense, and it’s a pretty easy trial to run.

I see that Lord Haw Haw, sorry, Sumption has been up to his old tricks, by telling the elderly and cancer sufferers of any age that their lives are less valuable than young , fit Aryans. Ok, he didn’t say Aryans.

Agree Frome, not even the Boris haters can have much to say at the moment. My Mrs was only telling me yesterday about the amount of people on her Facebook gossip sites who were saying how well it is running. Even when I speak while walking the mut, people are saying how they are happy with the vaccine. Let's keep our fingers crossed because they still have time to cock up?
