Punchestown 13,20 Ganapathi 5/2 WM "Paul has opted to ride him from our three in the race. He won nicely down at Cork and we’re hoping he could show a good bit of improvement. He missed Christmas and we need to get him out and more experience into him. He won before a lot of our horses came into form and we’re hoping he’s going to prove up to this standard."
Theres someone on here who follows Hamelin at Hong Kong, hope they were following him today. 5 winners all at big prices.
Am quite excited today, team, as my fave sporting event of the year starts today. But enough about 'Dancing on Ice'. Onto the racing and Santini's little half-sister is debuting tomorrow - Kimmins (12.45 Linger Park). One to watch out for to see if she upholds family standards.
Ronan McNally another who has suddenly found some magic formula for turning horses who can't win off 75 and 80 into graded performers, The Jam Man, The Trigger and now Dreal Deal who wins at odds of 22/1 today, who has gone from a mark of 84 and will now be placed into the 150's possibly after winning today. Horses who were regularly getting beat 50 lenghts + only 16 months ago and less, hard to fathom those turnarounds, or do you guys think its normal? Certainly if one horse did it, you might say ok, but to have numerous animals improving rapidly, I have my doubts.
Put a dampener on the race from the get go. Back to hurdles maybe? Or one more try at the Dublin racing festival.
I'll need to watch the replay mate but my initial thought was also "back to hurdles". Such a shame as he was probably the strongest opponent Envoi Allen has faced to date over fences and it might have given a clue as to where the ceiling might be with the Cheveley Park monster. Ah well.
Joseph's horse got onto his coat tails there nearing the end and I was thinking this could get more interesting than I thought, but Jack Kennedy just gave him a reminder to pick up to avoid the loose horses as well and he did pick up fairly easy again, he didn't have to get out of 2nd or 3rd gear really barring one instance and was almsot being pulled up as soon as he took off, it told us nothing, but adds another W to his name and some pocket change into Cheveley Park stud.
Bugger, just noticed that was 6lb clear top rated by Timeform. That would have been an ew bet at those odds
Incredibly drifted from 5/1 last night, opened at 11/1 and won at twice that price. Booked a ticket to the festival now. Connections sounded surprised by the win.
