If we played 4-3-3 I could understand but we don’t It’s 4-2-3-1 And it is **** But we’ve got to second in the table playing it. I don’t think we had that many chances today, did we? I thought Blackpool were a very difficult team to break down. Strong centre half’s Tricky wide men between and a big **** up front who held it up well. And we’d have beaten them with 11 on the pitch. we move on
How can the formation not be working if we are creating the amount of chances we create? It's the players missing the chances and not the formation. I agree in games when something different is needed second half etc then yes GM rigid approach is frustrating, but on the whole the formation has us playing in a way that is creating a lot of chances so that really doesn't need to change for the majority of the time. ( I'd would be great to see some stats on chances created over the season Vs other teams, I'd be confident that we would be up there ) what if we change the formation and style of play and we create less and still don't score? As I've just said in reply to OLM, we are in L1 with L1 teams and L1 players and we sometimes probably don't accept that due to how recent we have been watching players week in and week out that only need one chance to score and do score 95% of the time. GM needs to get his players to take the chances we create more consistently, not change the system to try and create more chances
I’m starting to get a bit angry again with the ****show running of this club. Driving home from work and having to listen to Grimsby v whoever it was and every 20 mins hearing from Dave Burns from his laptop or whatever. They didn’t even go over when we scored KLP on the bench as we drop another 2 points as we commit selection suicide. After hearing Stan Ternant on Humberside last night he made it quite clear who the Villain in this is. Not Dad but bloody minded son. Appalled by the opportunity lost when in the Prem and his belief that we would of been an established prem side by now. Anyway I think I’ll have a beer it’s Saturday I think...
I really couldn't give 2 hoots about Accrington....I'm more concerned about us and the fact that we dropped 2 points.
I personally don't see Wilks and KLP as ideal as the central spearhead upfront as I think you loose what they offer running in from wide and don't think the ball always sticks as well as with a more physical type who can play with back to goal. That said I do think we're crying out for a central striker who is a bit more clinical when facing goal whilst retaining the attributes of the current two we have. Missed chances are costing us. Disappointing today with the result though not too much wrong with the overall team performance as we're creating chances. I don't see the way the team is set up as the issue, just a little more quality in that key area is required. Burke was a bit unlucky today and without that mistake I couldn't see us conceeding but there's always that chance at only 1-0, and I felt we should have been 2 up at least based on opportunities. We need to find a bit of consistency again though. No doubt about it.
This season has echoes of 15/16, a more than capable squad in a piss poor division being hamstrung by a manager seemingly unable to get the best from his players on a consistent basis. That team managed to scramble up via the playoffs. With the chasing pack closing in, we need a kick up the arse. I wouldn't fancy our chances in the [footballcliche]end of season lottery[/footballcliche]
Totally Agree. Still a long way to go yet of course but as the weeks go by it’s becoming obvious now the club are still short on both firepower and knowing how to keep a clean sheet at the other end. The sending off today will get all the headlines for all the wrong reasons as despite being in command prior to the red card fans will blame that rather than the sloppy defending that’s haunted us all season. You’ve maintained your stance for a while now and got slaughtered for it so fair play to you.
McCann on Radio Humberside, quite open that KLP's agents want him to leave this window and intend to bring offers into the club for him. McCann says he isn't for sale... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p09479cx
It wouldn't overly concern me to be honest,I'm not suffering nearly as much as some on here....The one way to have any chance of selling this Club is move up a league, very little chance of a buyer at this level. If those that criticise, mock, gloat, bait and sit polishing their subbuteo trophies truly want rid of the Allams then maybe they should actually try and cross their fingers every time we play(like a lot of us do)and hope we win.Instead of giving it the 'I told you so' **** that coarses through this thread every game!!!
It really depends TBF, in some cases a player will instruct his agent to find him a move or explore the possibilities out there, other times an agent will go out and find a potential move and then present it to the player. Some players will appreciate that and some won't. An agent will always earn more money from a player moving as apposed to a player signing a new deal.
