    Very true @fatletiss

Going back further in time David Peach was at Gillingham directly before going to saints.

Going the other way John Crabbe become a bit of an icon at Gillingham after signing from saints.

He'll probably get a visa easy enough, but border guards may pinch his sandwiches

I’m racking my brains trying to remember the name of the Gills fan who was a regular visitor on here in our League One days. Anyone remember?

He used to always check in to see how Gazzaniga was getting on.

In League One I went to Gillingham away and was in hospitality. David Peach was the guest speaker and he came and sat with us at half time. Lovely bloke and remembered so much of his time with us. I mentioned an Everton game and he said oh yes we won that 2-0 and it was snowing. Great guy.

Over the years we have had some excellent left backs (and right backs) and Davis Peach was one of them. Wasn't it his penalty that took us to Wembley in 76?

Having said that Steve Mills was my all time favourite. Such a shame his career was cut short.

David Peach was excellent and he did score a penalty in the semifinal. Steve Mills could have been something special, but my favourite from bygone eras is Mark Dennis. If he hadn’t been a bit of a nutter, he’d have been England’s left back for a decade. Awesome player. Great left hook on Peter Withe, I think, at The Dell.

Really good player, but saying he was “a bit of a nutter” is like saying Pavarotti was a little bit chubby.

Many years ago on the radio, so long now l cannot remember the station, they were talking about the hard bastards in football, 'Norman 'bites your legs' Hunter, 'Chopper' Harris, and Mark Dennis was mentioned in the same and concensus he was he was in that mix and it was arguably the worst, although l remember watching John Mcgrath..

Steve Mills was a good friend of mine and I still see his wife Jo regularly. It was such a tragedy that he died so young. He fought the Leukemia for as long as he could and was always as cheerful as he could be. I popped into see him in hospital most weeks. The doctors and nurses at the RSH loved him to bits and were visibly shaken when he passed away. He was one of the good guys and absolutely loved playing for Saints. He really was some player.

One thing I will never forget is that before he got ill we had a kick around in his back garden and I remember trying to get the ball past him but it was like hitting a brick wall and I eventually just gave up. We were sat down having a cuppa afterwards and he just looked at me and said with a smile "You will never get that ball past me, because I don't want you to."

You could also add Terry Paine to that list, he knew how to leave his mark.
