I find it impossible not to dislike Allardyce and I think he's limited and dull as a manager. Yet I'd still swap Bruce for him in a heart-beat and I'm sure most WBA fans wouldn't want to swap. If you go ask Sunderland fans which manager they though was best they'd also say Allardyce. Say what you want about him but he's palpably superior to Bruce. At the moment it isn't just poor football and poor results (a dire combination) it's the limp lifeless way we play which suggests there is no actual gameplan or tactics, at least with Allardyce you know what you're buying into. You cannot accuse him of not having an aim or style of play.
I agree but Bruce isn’t any benchmark to compare with. I simply believe that Fat Sam’s style of managership has seen it’s day and will only surpass teams and managers of similar ilk such as potentially us or teams who have just recently been promoted. Hence why I haven’t crossed us out of being in the mix.
Another team that have a game plan and an identity. Wonder what Bruce means by "the gloves are off" - what does that actually mean?
according to George caulkin a lot of players had no idea about this whole false 10 thing. I haven’t worked out what the **** he means regarding hand grenades either. he’s just a ****.
Im wondering if these potential results are actually a blessing, in that the club might be forced to act. There’s got to be someone like a Benitez out there who in their arrogance thinks they can save this club with one eye on impressing rich new owners. The story with Rafa was that his representatives contacted the club. It’s only natural that a bean counting lap dog clown like Charnley isn’t going to know what to do. Hes already picked Carver, Macca and now Brucey. Even an idiot of an owner would bring in someone above Charnley and move him elsewhere, but we have Ashley. So who out there could surprise us and contact the club to offer help this time?
It's easier than ever to sack Bruce and bring in someone semi competent right now, there's a bunch out of work and would jump at the job. Off the top of my head, Pearson, Howe and Barton are three I know would do a better job. If we are destined to grind out results, so be it, I want to do it with a man who actually understands that system and not someone who dabbles in it from time to time. Bruce has no go to system, he has no permanent solution like a Fat Sam, Pearson, even a Pulis. It's all random, "I'm a nice bloke, play well for me," 442 garbage. He's utterly out of his depth. Even in the tier of managers I wouldn't want, Bruce is absolutely rock bottom.
Been reading some of it back - seems to me he's been using Covid as an excuse to his paymasters, and they've gone along with it. He's obviously been advised NOT to play that card in public as it's too sensitive. Either way, I've not been so excited to see a team sheet for about 25 years. For all the wrong reasons, mind.
Mark Hughes ready for management return. Oh no. "You get people contacting you, if this happens would you want to join this club." OH NO. "You don't actively chase jobs, but you can tell by results things are moving" OH ****ING NO!!
https://www.themag.co.uk/2021/01/wi...rose-said-about-steve-bruce-newcastle-united/ Ok it’s the mag. But it’s w valid point. Most other PL teams train/study 5 days a week whereas ours only train 3. No wonder the players love it under SB they effectively have the life of Brian.
