I could feed one child, 5 lunches, out of the government guidance.

Monday - Beans on Toast - One portion of fruit with yougurt.

Tuesday - Tin of meat, with mini salad (potato, cucumber, tomato, sweetcorn), Couple of slices bread to go with it, perhaps. One portion of fruit.

Wednesday - Beans on Toast. - One portion of fruit with yogurt.

Thursday - Cheese sandwiches/Cheese on toast with tomato. One portion of fruit.

Friday - Tin of meat, with mini salad. - One portion of fruit with yogurt.

What is wrong with that? Are folk expecting banquets for their kids when the government are feeding millions of them?

It's just been silly season on the conspiricies. I use twitter nd have done for years. You can spot fake news pretty quickly and despite there being a wait the factchecker always seems to get their in the end.

Despite being the seventh richest country in the world, according to the governments own figures, 30 % (4.2 million) of children in the UK are living in poverty.

Irrespective of how their parents manage any income they have, children are not to blame for being in poverty.

You are right Rooch, families and children have been in poverty irrespective of who the government is and that opens a whole new debate, but I was responding to a specific question from @Dancingstripes
