Taken from SkySports.com a few minutes ago, this lad should retire!

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Kieron Dyer faces a longer spell on the sidelines after suffering a setback with his foot injury.

Dyer has been out of action since sustaining the problem just minutes into his debut on the opening day of the season against Bolton.

It was initally thought the damage would only sideline him until September, but the injury-plagued 32-year-old has now suffered a new problem.

Rangers boss Neil Warnock admits the latest blow is likely to keep the former England international out until Christmas.

"It's not looking good for Kieron, and it looks as if he will need a lengthy rehab," Warnock told the Fulham Chronicle.

    Pain
"There seems to be new ligament problem at the front of his foot, and he has been in a lot of pain.

"I feel for the lad, especially after the training and effort he's made to get back."

Warnock has vowed to stick by Dyer after bringing him in on a free transfer in the summer and has ruled out loaning him to another club in the new year.

"There has been talk we whould maybe think of finding Kieron another club at Christmas, bearing in mind we have a number of new players," added Warnock.

"But I would like to keep him until the end of the season - he deserves that at least."

Agree - retire! Only played about 10 games since leaving us. Not sure if he has completed 90 mins in that time either

I wonder if we will ever find out the root cause of his longstanding injury problems? It's a bit more than just bad luck, surely.

Would have been even better if we'd sold him to Inter Milan when they wanted to pay 20m! Feel sorry for the lad and I have a lot more respect for him after he held his hands up to the unacceptable behaviour when with us in a recent interview. I just can't see any future for him in the game.

I for some reason always remember a report or someone saying that Ryan Giggs went through a spell where he always had hamstring problems / injuries and it was down to the sports cars he was driving. Either the biting point of the clutch or the pedal arrangement.

Dyer used to like his flash cars..... Just a thought.

Far more likely to be the **** he was putting in his system when he was up here to be honest. When they tell you its coke Kieron, they're only talking about 10% of it!

That has just reminded me of a rumour that went around that he caught Hepititus while with NUFC on a friendly tour can't remember what country is was now. Some even claimed it to be Aids.

With Neil Wasock saying it was muscular it reminded me of the Giggs injuries.

Aye I remember those rumours. There was definetly something in it because they wouldn't reveal why he had to spend that time in The General. I was also told he had a liver problem and that was the reason. Who knows. What I do know is him, Bellers, Cort and Titus were very fond of the marching powder. I couldn't say for sure about Cort and Bramble (though recent events may confirm it in ones case) but I know people who saw Dyer and Bellers doing it.

I have heard the AIDs one as well. Apparently Woodgate used to be a heroin smackhead as well. Any coincidence both are as injury prone as they come

Jesus this guy must be made out of ice....... The cast of Casualty certaintly would be able to, but I'd be amazed if half his QPR team mates could pick him out of a line up since he's never fit to train.

It's a shame as he was a tallented footballer who had the world at his (broken) feet, but he's clearly got something seriously wrong with him. I just wonder how much of it is mental though? Hargreaves last few setbacks at Man United were put down to his mental toughness and when he joined City he stated he felt that he was being forced at times to come back early to training and action by the medical staff even though he protested he wasn't ready medically or physically.

I just wonder if (particularly at West Ham) they've rushed him back time and time again when he's been on the fringes of fitness to prove that he wasn't a total waste of money and it's just ended up causing him more damage in the long term. I remember his first couple of seasons at West Ham they seemed to have three or four players constantly in the treatment room

Why is it still news when he gets injured? I just assume he's permanently injured, I'd only need a report to tell me he's fit.
