BBC love to snub David v Goliath games to broadcast boring all PL ties. Marine - Spurs was just too unavoidable for them.
Arsenal team for their 4th round game against Bournemouth last season (they won 2-1): Confident we'd beat a team of similar strength.
I want Shrewsbury to wear full PPE before they come near our boys......that will increase our chances. Would rather meet a lower league side, but remember we got a draw in the league and a few seasons ago we beat Arsenal in a cup when we had all but given up hope after the draw.
Shrews CEO was on TalkSPORT again earlier. I can't remember exactly what he said but I think the gist of it was they are trying to decide today and are looking to get the game played. Presume that will only be if the PL allow the Leeds game to be postponed. There's no other way of fitting it in otherwise.
I can see it from the Shrews POV....even if they have to play the kids they will get valuable income.
Which is fine until us or Leeds need another league game or two postponed due to covid and it becomes harder to fit in.
If it’s for income, give them the income from the PL or FA reserve pot they have put aside for special circumstances. There is a pot right? I’d rather it was played (if possible) for the integrity of the competition. If that’s not possible, it shouldn’t be about the money. Safety and integrity first for me.
Given nothing's been announced today I would assume no agreement has been reached. The FA said they expected to announce plans early this week. The chances of getting the match played are getting lower and lower the longer the delay I would think.
Whether the tie goes ahead is dependent on the outcome of the next round of tests in the Shrewsbury camp (and ours as well I suppose).
