No. Delighted he’s back. Good pro. Let’s hope he bears some semblance of the Charlie we knew and loved.
Law of averages dictates one or two will look really good but the wing-back system gives him more opportunities and exposes his lack of ability. He’s not lazy or anything that dislikeable- simply not very good at attacking or defending. When he first joined he seemed to play with a lot more aggression.
As someone said Kane did get in a lot of good positions yesterday and apparently against a £7 million Dutch International. He gets up and down well, if only he could improve his crossing and some of his variable defending.
Quite glaring deficiencies for a full-back. My dog could run up and down the pitch but he is as of yet unsigned.
Quite looking forward to the return of Charlie Austin. He will be a different player, primarily slower, but probably wiser. We don’t need the Hollywood glamour goals, just someone to tap in the easy chances! A thoroughbred goal scorer never forgets where the net is and thrives for goals! Let’s see how it develops.
Your dog great.... but we have Albert and Williock on our Bench who seem able to run only up, and not much back for only 10 or 15 minutes,. Kakay is injured. So **** maybe we should just sign your dog up, as a RWB.
It is not just his lack of ability in crossing and defending. I am often stunned at how a player can be playing in this division without basic ball control and simple ground passing skills. I don't exaggerate when I say I immediately become nervous when he has the ball, expecting us to have to defend a second later.
If he does then he'll be back in the shop window for other clubs as well so it'll probably be another Hugill situation.
Charlie was more effective with us then he was at Southampton or West Brom. If he plays well for us, maybe there could be a deal but he has to prove himself. And he has already made one mistake by leaving us...
delighted with Charlie signing. Yesterdays performance from our front two suggests it is desperately needed.
Charlie coming back has given me a semi. Better than the deflation I had watching that effort yesterday, How the hell does Dykes get in a national team? I think Thomas and Kelman could prove the doubters wrong though given enough game time
